Someone I dearly love, named Terri, has been in a coma for a week now; my heart is breaking; she opens her eyes and does not see, so I wanted her to paint the sky with stars as I review treasured moments.

011507: We're on our second week now, the doctors are grim; we need a miracle, please pray for her :)

011607: Prayers are working! This morning the doctors cancelled a procedure because she was alert, not focused, but alert - this is something :) The doctors said later today that she is doing a little better than they expected and is starting to breathe on her own. Your prayers are making a difference, please continue to pray!

011807 The doctors say that with all the therapy in the world, they cannot bring her back to a full or even partially functioning human being; so, the family has decided to let her fly with the doves; to be whole again in spirit; I'll be looking for her spirit when she passes from this life and I will miss her terribly. They have unplugged her artifical life and are keeping her comfortable until she passes from this world.

012007 Terri has been taken to Hospice where she can die with dignity and being kept comfortable until her spirit flies.

012107 Terri passed away this morning; her spirit is flying with the eagles.  less

I'm reloading this video from my YouTube post, because it means so much to me. BillyBigUn64 had asked over there "What would I expect my legacy to be when I die?". I already thought of that   more...extensively while making a 14-movie genealogical DVD for my grandchildren, the very last video was created as a dedication to them and what I wished for them (my legacy). This movie is that dedication.  less

Trains take me home; growing up we were a railroad family - the sounds of trains clacking, whistles and the distant roar feed   more...my soul. However, recently Morfeene threatened to blow up some of my beloved cities! In order to get him to reconsider, I've added a Johnny Cash tune (gosh, he just love country music! *tee hee*) to get him to leave my beloved cities alone! Morfeene, have you cried, "Uncle" yet? I have many more country tunes in my arsenal ;P  less

This is the final video I prepared for our beloved Terri's funeral. Her beautiful sister eulogized a poem entitled "The Dash" which I used in this video. The poem is as follows:

The Dash

I read of a man who stood to speak
at the funeral of a friend.
He referred to the dates on her tombstone
from the beginning ... to the end.

He noted that first came the date of her birth
and spoke of the following date with tears,
but he said what mattered most of all
was the dash between those years.

For that dash represents all the time
that she spent alive on earth
and now only those who loved her
know what that little line is worth.

For it matters not, how much we own,
the cars ... the house ... the cash.
What matters is how we live and love
and how we spent our dash.

So think about this long and hard;
are there things you'd like to change?
For you never know how much time is left
that can still be rearranged.

If we could just slow down enough
to consider what's true and real
and always try to understand
the way other people feel.

And be less quick to anger
and show appreciation more
and love the people in our lives
like we've never loved before.

If we treat each other with respect
and more often wear a smile ...
remembering that this special dash
might only last a little while.

So when your eulogy is being read
with your life's actions to rehash,
would you be proud of the things they say
about how you spent your dash?  less

This is my very first food video! This recipe is in response to samsarajade's own sausage rolls! Mine are a little different and have a southwestern twist. Recipe follows (of course, I quadruple it for   more...a bunch o' hungries):

1 pkg refrigerated crescent rolls (8 oz)
1/2 pound bulk sausage (I like Jimmy Dean)
2 stalks green onion, chopped thinly
SW spice to taste (or use chili powder)
handful shredded cheddar cheese
egg wash

Unroll dough on lightly floured surface pressing seams and perforations together (or as best possible - a few holes looks kinda cool). Add ingredients and roll up from long side; cut into 1/2 to 1 " slices; Place cut side up in ungreased baking pan, brush on eggwash and bake at 375 degrees for 12 to 16 mins or until golden brown.
