you can still get anim8or on the net for free, its a great program and you can really   more...do animated movies with it, its easy to learn compared to Blender. but maybe it's better to start with Blender. also check for the free DAZ Studio  less

Not too long ago, Microsoft acquired Truespace, which is a 3d modeling animation and rendering software, this way they can give their "Virtual Earth" users a way to build things - The one feature   more...that makes it standout is the ability to render in real time ( less than 1 second per 640x480 pixels image ) with soft Shadows, and reflections, and lights with decay , and with neat looking shaders . Truespace also has a physics engine, cloth simulation and some features to help create hair ( i didnt try everything. There's also a particle system i was not able to figure.  less
