We tried to give it a MOODY BLUES more...type of feel. See what you think. Here are his lyrics ON YOUR WAY [C1]: Hey I say to myself -- why I have to go through this pain The decision took a long time -- and always it hurt so bad -- ...hurt so bad
[C2]: Now I think to myself -- tell me what I've done that wrong But never I will be told -- you are on your way, ...on your way
[V]: So the time has reached -- to decide about us No more thoughts, I just want it now -- to be clear to see -- ...to see
[B]: Just like no human, just like some trash You throw me away and don't look me in the eyes Why do you say you love me still when you can't show it anyway It's just like a play but I don't play it no more day
[V]: So the time has reached -- to decide about us No more thoughts, I just want it now -- to be clear to see -- ...to see
[C1]: Hey I say to myself -- why I have to go through this pain The decision took a long time -- and always it hurt so bad -- ...hurt so bad
[C2]: Now I think to myself -- tell me what I've done that wrong But never I will be told -- you are on your way, ...on your way

I added some instruments to his arrangement with some help from my brother, Dale. Lyrics Go to sleep little boy Your mommy's not home She's gone away more...to heaven Where all the angels go It's quarter past eleven Way past sleepy time But I'll be with you baby Till sunbeams kiss the sky
Close your eyes Don't say a word I know that you don't understand All the things you've heard Close your eyes Don't say a word Don't you know your daddy loves you
Go to sleep little boy And I'll be by your side All I have to give to you Is in this lullaby Daddy's heart is broken But daddy just can't cry so let softy sing to you sleep till morning light

Back in the day, recording your musical ideas consisted of putting them more...to tape (literally). In present time, it's a bit more 'fancy'.In this video I'll give you a few tips on how to store your musical ideas, whether they be riffs, melodies, chord progressions, full-blown compositions or even just textual ideas. I show you what I've done personally and what works best for me, though there's really no right way to go about this. Whichever way benefits you most is the way to go.Saving these things is EXTREMELY important and I wholeheartedly recommend to begin doing this NOW if you're not already. We've all had those times when we've written something and wished that we would have recorded it in time to remember it for future use. By employing these few little techniques, your life will be a bit easier on the composing side. less Tags: songwriting write sheet music power tablature recording pitch training midi riff melody melodies composing chord progression Category: Music Views: 4 Comments: 0 Added: Apr 8, 09 By: guitargnosis | | | | | Archiving your guitar riffs and piano melodies pt2 05:19http://www.guitargnosis.comJust imagine in 5 years time what you'll end up with if you begin to employ the tips I'm giving you. Looking back on 5 years worth of little bits and pieces of ideas can seriously more...make you end up with a neat little treasure chest full of multiple holy grails of musical ideas.Songwriting doesn't have to be sitting around at your studio desk 'working'. It can be as easy as sitting around your house watching TV and coming up with an idea out of nowhere, then transcribing it and saving it for later use. You'll be surprised at what you came up with once you look back on all of it.By applying this, you'll see that it's gluing together musical confetti and taking these tiny bits and pieces and throwing them into a blender to ultimately produce a concoction of music that your heart and soul desires. Need I put it in any other way!? less Tags: songwriting write sheet music power tablature recording pitch training midi riff melody melodies composing chord progression Category: Music Views: 10 Comments: 0 Added: Apr 8, 09 By: guitargnosis | | | | | Synthesizer Programming Is it really easy YES pt2 04:09http://www.synthgnosis.comThis is the 2nd half of the first tutorial in the synthesizer programming series. There is a sample sine wave and a square wave to go along with this lesson available on the more...site. It comes directly from my synthesizer and it's for loading into your audio editor of choice. Once downloaded and inserted into your audio editor of choice, stretch the track view and look at the drawn waveform. Does it look familiar? It should!Synthesizer programming is something that's often strayed away from due to all of those big, fancy words. Sometimes, something like a Low Frequency Oscillator seems so incredibly frightening that we don't even attempt to try and learn synthesizer programming. I want to tell you that it's MUCH more easy than you've ever imagined, and I'm here to show you how and why.Synth programming is very simple. It basically starts with a wave, or a shape. We call them waveforms. The most common types of these shapes, waves, or 'waveforms' are below:(in no particular order)Sine
Triangle
Square
Pulse
Sawtooth (Saw)
NoiseThere are many more shapes, but we'll save that for another time. We have what we call an oscillator, and this oscillator generates one of the aforementioned waveforms. It then goes into what's called a filter, which is where the basic subtractive synthesis takes place. Subtractive synthesis is the most common type of synthesis. Basically, you 'take out' (subtract) what you don't want from the original waveform and it produces the desired timbre. It is then run into the amplifier which is simply volume.Oscillator - Filter - AmplifierThis is the order in which synthesis takes place. Congrats. You now know more than most about synth programming just from these little tidbits of information. less Tags: synth synthesizer programming patch sound low frequency oscillator lfo wave waveform shape filter amplifier sine square triangle pulse saw sawtooth noise korg roland kurzweil midi cubase sonar logic protools kontakt Category: Music Views: 52 Comments: 0 Added: Mar 24, 09 By: synthgnosis | | | | | Synthesizer Programming Fundamentals Is it really easy YES! 04:15http://www.synthgnosis.comThere is a sample sine wave and a square wave to go along with this lesson available on the site. I'm talking books, and manuals! You'd be surprised at just how much you can improve yourself as a musician by doing one simple thing: studying. more...For example, let's take a guitarist and a synthesizer player. What do they do?.... play guitar and synthesizer. Ok, but what am I trying to say here? What I'm trying to say is that there is a LOT more to being a musician than you think. A lot of it is studying the way audio is recorded, mixed, mastered, etc. Of course we all have downtime and we're not playing our instruments all day long, but during the time we're not, you'd be surprised at how fast you can progress as a musician by just reading, which doesn't even require an instrument in your hands. As a final note, please don't be discouraged by anyone. Where they fail, you can cash in. The chances are that if you even so much as read just a SINGLE book on any audial subject, you'll probably know more than 85% of the musicians out there that are into the same thing.Studying is just as important as practicing. less Tags: midi orchestration music notation sheet mixing mastering sonar cubase songwriting technique lesson tutorial vst instrument practice Category: Music Views: 9 Comments: 0 Added: Mar 18, 09 By: synthgnosis | | | | | Hand amp Finger Independence Exercises 1 05:42http://www.synthgnosis.comMidi file and sheet music (fingerings included) available on the site.I believe that the best way to get over those little hurdles in music is to attack them directly. For more...as long as I remember, I've created my own exercises to help myself progress in what I was weak in. This short lesson will give you some ideas for creating your own exercises targeted at your weakness, as well as give you an exercise of my own to try out.Finger and hand independence is what the great majority of new synthesizer and piano players have the most difficulty with, especially HAND independence. I consider hand independence more of a 'muscle' kind of a thing, and hand independence more of a 'mind' kind of a thing. Finger independence is mental of course, but I find it's much easier to master than hand independence, which takes a lot more mental power. less Tags: piano synthesizer finger hand independence hanon bach invention exercise midi vst instrument sheet music sibelius Category: Music Views: 66 Comments: 0 Added: Mar 18, 09 By: synthgnosis | | |
