....World's First Image Taking of the Moon by HDTV....

Japan's Kaguya probe, now in lunar orbit, recently beamed back the first ever high-definition video footage of the moon's surface. The clip consists   more...of two sequences—one shot over the northern part of Oceanus Procellarum toward the Moon's north pole; the other is a fly over of the western side of Oceanus Procellarum.

The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation) have successfully performed the world's first high-definition image taking by the lunar explorer "KAGUYA" (SELENE,) which was injected into a lunar orbit at an altitude of about 100 km on October 18, 2007, (Japan Standard Time. Following times and dates are all JST.)

The image shooting was carried out by the onboard high definition television (HDTV) of the KAGUYA, and it is the world's first high definition image data acquisition of the Moon from an altitude about 100 kilometers away from the Moon.

The image taking was performed twice on October 31. Both were eight-fold speed intermittent shooting (eight minutes is converged to one minute.) The first shooting covered from the northern area of the "Oceanus Procellarum" toward the center of the North Pole, then the second one was from the south to the north on the western side of the "Oceanus Procellarum." The moving image data acquired by the KAGUYA was received at the JAXA Usuda Deep Space Center, and processed by NHK.

The satellite was confirmed to be in good health through telemetry data received at the Usuda station.

On Nov.7th, 2007 Japan's KAGUYA takes images of the moon using a HDTV camera!
This Satellite is presently undergoing initial functional verification. It seems to have acquired an image which looks like   more...an alien base near the North Pole of our Moon? The alien base area is just prior to orbiting over the dark shadow of the moon threshold in the bottom right corner of the video. I just wrote Japan in regard to my find thanks to this more detailed HDTV. I am hoping JAXA writes back as I can also show them areas where they should take more pictures. On the opposite side (kept "turned" away from Earth) many areas have these bases. In fact, I think the whole moon is a Nephilim Mother Ship much like Saturn's Iapetus.  less

Mr Jeromy Staggs has submitted a copy to Morehead State University's Space Science Center and says,

“The professors at Morehead State University's Space Science Center told me it was huge, they eliminated   more...International Space Station, and all earth orbit satellites. I have 1 minute and 10 seconds of footage. The professors told me they thought it was in our atmosphere just after first viewing it, but in the beginning of the video a shadow or something move across the moon pry-or to the object.

One professor called me this morning and told me a guy in another part of Kentucky contacted them about having shot the same thing. Said he would be back in touch in a day or two……Was kinda surprised by the call. But said they was gonna start triangulating to determine size in a day or two, probably will be the first of next week before I hear anything about other video or size.”

Moon

A video log of my viewing experience on March 3, 2007 of the total lunar eclipse. It was 11 degrees when we started viewing, and the wind was brisk, but we endured...almost to the end.

This night was so clear and the moon was full and bright, I could not resist not to capture this is share it. ENJOY!

It is all a bit jumpy, though I slowed it down and cut out the really jumpy bits. I don't yet have a tripod that can handle the new camera so it was hand-held for the beginning of the recording.

As well,   more...the view was great from my porch but I was standing out freezing my ass off (-25 C) and the neighbour was out smoking and coughing up a lung, so I went out into the country where I would have an undisturbed view and it would be quiet.

Once I was out in the country, I had my little tripod clipped to my visor in the car and that helped.

It isn't perfect but if you missed the eclipse, it will give you a bit of an idea what it looked like.  less
