It's more of New Zealand. The Christchurch Kiwibiker Adventure crew go on a Dual Sport adventure which turns out to be very slippery and better suited to trail bikes.
We started on public roads and finished   more...on private land for a small pre arranged fee. I'm glad I was riding my CRF230 (trailered it to the end of the tarmac). Others road in from Christchurch on F650 Dakar, F650 Funduro, a DR650, a XR650, TTR250, CRM250, WR and some others including our English friend the Tourist on the Africa Twin 750 who did real well considering he had very road bias tires.  less

Wellington is New Zealands Capital.
26 April 2008 was the Capital Coast Adventure where over 200 of us gathered in Wellington for an awesome motorcycling adventure.

We are off to lunch at Akaroa and to see what's at the end of Lighthouse Road over the hill behind the village.
First we play along the way at Birdlings Flat then pop in to Peraki Bay, you can hardly tell   more...it was on old whaling station once. Then to finish off in style we get out of shape on a bumpy, muddy stock track (yes, a paper road that farmers use to move stock)that climbs back to the summit road from Takamatua Bay.  less

Some of the Christchurch Kiwibikers out for a crusey ride on a Wednesday evening. This time the ride started off fairly   more...cruisy then went a bit faster then finished off cruisy again as we went from Burger King in Moorhouse Ave through Halswell, Old Taitapu Rd, Gebbies Pass, stopped in at the Wheatsheaf, then on around to Lyttelton, Evans Pass, Sumner, Mt Pleasant and finished at the Watershed in Ferrymeed.
A very nice ride with a mix of bikes and recorded by me with helmet camera onboard my DR650.  less

The first leg of the Dusty Butt video was done in the dark, here's 10 minutes dedicated to the Maungatapu, done in daylight this time.
I'm following Nelsonite and Kiwibiker Nordieboy on his DR650.
I'm also   more...on a DR650. Despite the looks in places this road/track generally offers good traction when dry.  less

Had a visitor at work last night...with a pitbike.
So i ran home (all of about 300 meters from the factory) and grabbed my camera.
There's a mixture of Helmet cam, Normal handy cam and a little Cellphone   more...cam and ends with a small off.

The Brass monkey is a motorcycle rally held in central Otago at the start of New Zealands winter.For us this year it was more about the time on the back roads than being at the rally.We went via the   more...Makenzie Pass, Hakataramera Pass, Kurow, Danseys Pass, and back via Danseys, the Black forest, Fairlie and messed about on the roads above on the way to Geraldiene.For more info on the rally visit http://www.brassmonkeyrally.org.nz/  less

23 October 2006 The BMW/Yamaha shop in Christchurch held it's second Adventure Ride. It was mostly on the Canterbury Plains so there were lots of straight flat shingle roads this time.
Interesting bits   more...were the odd ford, a well irrigated track, deep shingle river bed and the variety of bikes big and small including my DR250, F650's, BMW R1150GS's DR650's, XR's, a KLE and lots of others... even a HP2.
This time wasn't as interesting as their first adventure but still made for a good day ou  less

Our version of the Dusty Butt 1000km in 24 hours mostly shingle roads all hilly and winding. This is the summery of our first attempt on the 10th March 2007 which didn't exactly go as planned. We had   more...two flat tyres and had to share a key for two gates in the Rainbow. That on top of BusaJim taking a passenger on the BMW and the fact most of us didn't get a decent sleep the night before because we had been riding to the start which was in Nelson slowed us to the point of not being able to finish within the 24hours.
The part in this video is the 5:30am start, over the Maungatapu, through some forestry zigzagging our way to Blenheim, then up the Black Birch range to the top of Mt Altimarloch and back, (two flat tyres already) through the Molesworth in to Hanmer, through the Rainbow Station to St Arnaud where some called it a day. The rest went over the Porika and Braeburn tracks to Murchison where there was another flat tyre and my headlight was only working on high beam. At 11:40pm the rest of us called it there and rode another hour and a half back to Nelson.  less

Not racing, just a mate cruising around on an open track day.

Adventuring on the ANZAC Day public holiday. The idea was to ride our bikes from Sea level to the top of a mountain so off we went from Brighton beach to Mt Olympus ski field (it's the end of summer here).

The Porika track from Lake Rotoroa to The Howard valley to State Highway 63.
The others I were with were too far ahead and just behind me thus don't get recorded this time so it's just the track on film.

Kiwibiker.co.nz Wedenday cruise goes by up Dyers Pass Rd in Christchurch.
