Despite writing "the letter", Kimberly still has feelings for Tommy. She leaves her training to return to Angel Grove, only to realize that Tommy is now dating Katherine.

After "Passing the Torch", Tommy had to not only deal with his time as a power ranger being over. But also the fact that his girlfriend was on the other side of the globe.
