This is the first part of several taken from our local NBC Newscenter10 TV Station documentary called Floodwatch '94. It's what they called the 500 year flood (meaning a flood like this usually only happens   more...once in 500 years) that occured here where I live in Albany, GA and the surronding areas in July 1994. I didn't get flooded out but my older sister Lisa and her family lived by the Kinchafoonee Creek and were awoken and evacuated at around 3 AM. Very scary indeed! Their house was flooded with about 4 feet of water. If you have time to watch, this series of videos contains very interesting footage (there are 7 videos, the first 5 at about 10 minutes each and the last 2 over 17 minutes a piece for the whole documentary). Final part of FloodWatch '94, the documentary about the flood in Albany, GA in July 1994. In this part, among other things, you'll see President Bill Clinton (bringing $60 million in aid), Surgeon General   more...Jocelyn Elders, Governor Zell Miller and Senator Paul Coverdell visit Albany, farmers and crops flooded out, the flood waters receding, women having babies in shelters, baseball helping kids, FEMA assistance, people from out of state coming to help flood victims and people returning to their homes to find devastation. This is a Memorial video of my 13 year-old nephew Blaine who was killed in an ATV accident on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2003. He was wearing a helmet but it didn't help in his accident. He was a   more...great kid. He greeted people with hugs and was very loving, always respecting adults. Blaine was baptised only 25 days before the accident. Of all the bumper stickers his mother had given him for his ATV, he only put one on it and it simply said, "GOD". Blaine's best friend Jacob Davis (that you see in front of him in the band photo) died almost exaclty a year before Blaine. He is buried behind Blaine. The redish headstone you see in the gravesite photos is his. Such a shame and heartache to see such young kids dying. Makes you think about life alot. This part has evacuations, people being rescued, bridge closings, fight to save hospital, Albany State College (now Albany State University) and Civic Center, all from July 7th and 8th. I didn't get flooded out but my older sister Lisa and her family lived by the Kinchafoonee Creek and were awoken and evacuated at around 3 AM. Very scary indeed! Memorial video I made in loving memory of my nephew Blaine that contains video footage of him throughout   more...his years here with us. I made this for what would have been his 18th Birthday on January 25, 2008. Blaine would have Graduated from Lee County High School on May 30, 2008. LCHS put a Memorial page in their yearbook for him this year. I hope this video helps you to get to know my nephew at least a little. My grandmother was Mary Ruth Schneider (before she married my grandfather Earl Reich) and she had 6 brothers, Paul P., Charles A., Ervin M., Earl O. "Ott", John D. and William C. "Bill"   more...Schneider (all 7 are deceased now) and their parents were Phillip C. and Mary Jane (Redman) Schneider. Mary Jane Redman is a descendent of John Greathouse of Virginia. Her parents were George Taylor & Mary Elizabeth (Clarkson) Redman. There are also photos of my grandfather Earl Reich's sisters, Charlotte, Evelyn and Roberta. I know this video is long and won't be interesting to many but I spent weeks making it and actually made it for family members but decided to post it here for the few that might enjoy old photos, nostalgia and/or ancestory. Thanks to my 2nd cousin John C. Schneider (my grandmother's brother John D.'s son) for sending the photos and all the info back in 2005.
