With a career that spanned 73 years, she holds the record for the most Best Actress   more...Oscar wins having taken home the statue four times in 12 nominations. The American Film Institute ranked her as the greatest film star in the history of American cinema in 1999. Katharine Houghton Hepburn died of natural causes on June 19, 2003, at 96 years of age.
