The extinction of family farms has become a lightning rod issue for environmental activist and lawyer Robert Kennedy Jr., who believes, “Thomas Jefferson’s view of American democracy was rooted in tens of thousands of yeoman farms. People who had a stake in our country, who controlled the land…these vital commodities… see (corporate farming) as the final nail in the coffin of that vision. And our landscapes are now being occupied by a few pirate multinational corporations who care nothing about our country or its losses.”

Last Saturday, the manager of the local Harley-Davidson dealership asked me was asked to help him take out a group of brand new riders. In Part 1, I lay the groundwork for the ride. Day three of the Harley Owners Group '07 Spring rally in Donghae, Korea saw us pack our our bags, mount our bikes and take a leisurely 7-hour ride home under cloudy skies and cold winds.

Day 1 of the Harley Owners Group Spring 2007 National Rally in Donghae, Korea. I finished work at 8:00 pm and took the 6 hour ride to Donghae in wet weather. I talk about the ride. I suffer through   more...my friend's incredibly loud snoring. I watch a woman squeeze an new-born infant between her and her husband on the back of a Harley...with no protection.  less

Ferret meets hedgehog for the first time

Day two of the Harley Owners Group '07 Spring rally in Donghae, Korea started with a weird poker run type of thing...except the rules were different and the cards had puppies, kitties, turtles, pigs,   more...cows, chickens and thing like that on them. During a beautiful ride up and down the coast after the poker run, I talk about a one-year sand timer and spies from North Korea. The evening ends with a few Pink Floyd songs being butchered by a top Korean actor who thinks he's much cooler than he actually is.  less
