The word coffeeshop, conveniently created by the Dutch habit of running words together, has become synonymous with a special kind of coffee shop. These places do sell coffee and have one or more tables   more...to sit and drink it but, their primary commodity is cannabis. The term soft drug is most usually applied to cannabis (marijuana or hashish) because it is not associated with deaths, crime or violence amongst users and is without evidence of physical addiction.[ This distinction between soft drugs and hard drugs is important in the drug policy of the Netherlands, where cannabis production, retailing and use come under official tolerance , subject to certain conditions.These days they are licensed by the local council and subject to regulation. A strict minimum age of 18 is enforced. Coffee shops are not allowed to advertise, so you won't see a big sign saying "Marijuana for Sale". If you don't see a dealer's booth, just go up to the bar and ask to see the 'menu'. You will be presented with a list of the various different grasses and hashes available at a range of prices. In some shops cannabis is sold by weight, in others by value. Where it is sold by weight the prices are per gram. There are 28 grams in an ounce. Where it is sold by value, the menu will show the quantity, in grams, that you'll get of each variety for a fixed price of, say, 20 euros.  less

Let's stop making erroneous assumptions based on a person's philosophical stance.

We need to end the polarization of our politics and culture.

Is it original? No, not really. Do I care? No, not really. :P

My first compilation AMV, using Wolf's Rain, Cowboy Bebop, and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd GIG (in that order). The Cowboy   more...Bebop clips are by far the worst quality of all three, but seeing as I got them off limewire, they're still pretty decent.

I tried to take my time with this as much as possible, because I have a tendency to rush projects in order to get them done as quickly as possible. However the amount of time you spend on a video reflects its overall quality, so I tried to take it slow.

What links these three shows together:
- Keiko Nobumoto, the author of Cowboy Bebop, also wrote Wolf's Rain
- Mary Elizabeth McGlynn, the voice actress who plays Lady Jaguara in the English Version of Wolf's Rain, also plays Motoko Kusanagi in the English Version of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex
- Yoko Kanno composed the soundtracks for all three anime

Once upon a time on planet earth, on August 6, 1945 at 8:15 AM, the first atomic bomb was dropped on a civilian population in Hiroshima, Japan, killing   more...80,000 people instantly, at least 60,000 since then, thus marking the beginning of the Nuclear Arms Race.

Sixty-two years later, on August 6, 2007 at 8:15 AM, more than 40 photographers, in more than 25 countries will be taking a single photograph.

ONCE UPON A TIME ON PLANET EARTH is the brainchild of ex-pat Ron Modro; an American who lives in France, Modro is a journalist/photographer. His belief that a single human being can make a difference, gives life to this innovative project.

"I wanted to find a venue to exploit the Internet as a force of global change for peace and understanding." Modro says. "How could we use the blogosphere to change and help re-shape public opinion and governmental policy? How can the Internet influence the biggest issues of our time? A single moment in life is at the core of this global photographic endeavor."

After spending 15 years in LA working in the Film industry, Modro worked for six years in Human Rights Education as the Senior Manager of the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles.

In 2004, the museum was given "United Nations Global Tolerance Award," as well as a commendation by the City of Los Angeles for their outstanding work in the field of Tolerance Education.

In 2004, Modro published THE LITTLE BOOK OF A MAN and has received top writing awards from the International Society of Poets in 2002, 2003, 2004 and, in 2005 was honored with EDITOR'S CHOICE AWARD and POET OF MERIT AWARDS.
