Hey there, youtube. This vid is a dedication to a friendship my friend/'little sister' Emma and I made with two girls from Finland the winter of the beginning of 2006. I was 9, so was Linda, (who is actually   more...only 16 days younger than me, hence the 'twin' thing; more about that later...) her older sister Heidi was 12, and Emma was 7, which it all says in the video. Heidi and Linda and their family had rented a house three down from mine (and a couple streets away from Emma's) for two or three years because of their dad's job. So we always knew they were going back to the other side of the world eventually. But in the time we did have, the four of us became great, great friends to the point where you extremely rarely saw one of us without some other one of us, and we created some of each our most memorable memories in two years' time, from pretty hard core adventures around the neighborhood to just lounging around at one of our houses on the weekend. We were like sisters; Heidi the oldest, Linda and I the twins, and Emma the youngest. Like a family.
But it had to happen, and for those two years every now and then, getting more and more frequent as it got nearer to the summer when we knew they were going back, the thought would pop into our heads that Heidi and Linda would have to move back to Finland again.
And on June 1st, 2008, Heidi left her two younger sisters and Linda left her twin and younger sister almost 5,000 miles behind moving back from where they had come from all those fun times and all those memories ago in 2006.
I know I had never cried and probably never will cry as much and as hard as the last night we would see them for who knew how long at that point. The picture at the end of the video where our heads are together on the grass was the day before June 1st, the last day together as our family, and believe me, not to long after that picture taken, we were all bawling. I started it too, if I remember right. And Heidi was going, oh no please Emily, you'll make me cry!! :)
Soon after the picture, we went back to their house one final time, and seeing it all empty, bare, boxed-up and silent was almost to much for me to bear. Well, I had practically lived there the past 26 or so months. Basically, it was one of the hardest times in my life when they left. But I understand everything happens for a reason, including them coming and leaving, and it all works itself out in the end. Plus hey, I gained two awesome sisters, and I wouldn't be losing them, we would just be farther apart- but not in heart.
Like it says in my video- yes, some things will change, but the memories will always have a special place with all of us. And they will always be a part of all of us.
Oh, and if you guys reading this I'm going to take a guess and say really looooooong description want to see another dedication video I made before Heidi and Linda left -as a going away present, actually- search 'heidi linda emily emma best friends.' I uploaded it under the BBTE account- yes, we have an account, and we would love to be added :) It's emmalindaemilyheidi (youngest to oldest sisters) just like that. We had to wipe my hardrive a while ago to get rid of viruses, and I backed up my files on a flash drive, but somehow that going away dedication video didn't get saved. So I don't really have that one anymore except on youtube. :P
Well, all that's left to say is, enjoy these little clips from a very strong, special friendship I'm proud to have. And to my sisters, this is for you!
