And so begins Oume's journey to train herself in spite to get her rematch against the leader of Team Crowbar, Jon Talbain, after her defeat in Seadragon's Cup.

And   more...she faces the last of the Aiduzzi trio: Ella.

Maybe because I know her better than Ubu and Kuando, this battle was easier and only took me one try. But don't let this fool you: Ella is one tough cookie. She's fast and her attacks are quite damaging. You better watch out for her supers, specially their level 2 versions.

Anyway, Ella is also my favourite character of the Aiduzzi Trio. Maybe because she's a parody of horror films... Maybe it's because of her intros... Maybe it's because she's so weird... Dunno why, but Ella rocks.

This video marks two events in Team Draug:

- The initiation of the team's Cheap Buster, Lobo.

- The prologue to Oume's quest in order to train herself and get her rematch against Jon Talbain (check Seadragon's   more...Cup videos for more information).

So yes, Lobo the Last Czarnian has become the team's Cheap Buster. Let's talk about him and his first victim, Thin Nen, by Ihoo.

* Lobo by Buyog20099 is by far the best DC character you can find around. He isn't a cheesehead like Ice or Wonder Woman but he isn't lame either. Lobo's AI is quite tough, I must say.
Graphic wise, Lobo is an edit of Birdie, with some elements of Zangief and I also think of Cable. The edit is great and except for some facial expressions, it's 100% the Main Man.
Gameplay wise, Lobo is quite balanced for being a DC character with MvC gameplay. Maybe his only unbalanced move is the Big Fraggin' Gun (BFG) for both the number of projectiles it launches and the damage dealt by each one. But for the rest, his Frag Grenades can damage Lobo himself and his beer move won't always be good for Lobo.

* Thin Nen is one of the most infamous creations by Ihoo. This version combines both Thin Nen from Power Instinct and Power Instinct 2. Trying to make him accurate to both games, Ihoo ended getting a cheap bastard.
His priority is very high and his attacks deal more damage than even in the original games, where Thin Nen was already a high tier. But worst thing is that nearly none of his attacks can be blocked in mid-air and also he'll juggle you to death once he's cornered you.

The secret for beating him? Frag Grenades, kicks and the BFG. A pity I couldn't use the Main Man Airlines. I would have enjoyed running Thin Nen over with the SpazFrag. :P

World Heroes well-done character versus unfair World Heroes character. That's right, it's time for Rasputin to face a fellow fighter from his game series.

Muscle Power, as many of you know, is the Hulk   more...Hogan rip-off of World Heroes. His version in MUGEN is made by GM and I must say it's a quite unfair one.

Muscle Power has a very high priority in his attacks, which are also quite damaging. I know originally Muscle Power was one of the strongest characters in World Heroes, but he was balanced at the point he was as slow as a snail and he didn't have a long range. But that handicap is over here, since he's become fast and his attacks have a larger range.

It's been hard to defeat an unbalanced WH character using a balanced one, but in the end, Rasputin will prove Muscle Power who's the best... and maybe show him his Secret Garden? xD

Rasputin takes down this infamous edit of Jon Talbain. Well, calling him an edit of Gallon is insulting the original character himself.

PETA Wolf is said to be created by a supporter of PETA. Anyway, PETA   more...Wolf is nothing but a Kung Fu Man sprite swap, along with some stolen code from OTW (the bus attack is now an Ox attack) and Dio/Homer (the Road Roller Da! with the damn bus, huh?). He even has KFM's deathcry!

Anyway, a character this retarded deserves a good beatdown. This video doesn't represent my opinion about PETA though and I don't want to talk about that here.

Stage: Valley of Bliss, by Beximus

Oume has thought that Arina still needs to train to become stronger and she has set everything for her to fight one of the toughest schoolgirls around. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, in this vid Arina fights   more...Haruhi Suzumiya.

For those who don't know her, she's the main character of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (duh), an anime both loved and hated by many people. I don't love it nor I hate it. It's entertaining at least...

But what about Haruhi's MUGEN persona? Does the word "mindgame" ring a bell? Haruhi is opportunistic and once she sees an opening, prepare yourself for pain. In fact, even if here I defeat her in two rounds, it took me a long time to finally beat her in more than one round.

She has also three strikers (Yuki, Mikuru and Konata), but when other characters like Fat Albert use their strikers with no downsides, Haruhi's need more or less half of an energy bar to come out and it's not that difficult to knock them down, except for Yuki. Besides that, Konata has random effects, from attacking you to giving life for Haruhi or energy or losing energy.

Haruhi, all and all and despite the unnecessary pantyshots, is a balanced character. By the way, this isn't her most recent version, this is the old one before she got some updates.

So to make this clear: I don't hate Haruhi, I just love good challenges and Haruhi gives me what I want in that department.

Only thing to complain about? That I should look for a better recorder than CamStudio. The frame issue is getting worse. But I don't want to go back to HyperCam either and I don't think my laptop would be able to run SnagIt without crashing... =_=

Stage: Asuka120% - Cathy Wild's Stage

Another battle with Oume as the main star! Who's her opponent this time? Well, after fighting Ubu, I've decided to pit her against another Aiduzzi character.

This time Oume fights Kuando. And I must say   more...Kuando is even crazier than Ubu. In fact, this guy is quite messed up! But that makes him so special and interesting.

Kuando is a close fighter and his fists and kicks are specially strong. If you think projectile whores would be great against him, you're totally wrong, since he also has attacks that may affect the whole ground and even go fastforward and against you, even if you are in the other end of the screen.

Like other Aiduzzi characters, you better don't let him build enough energy up or he'll own you. Kuando's specials are quite powerful and I must say I needed a couple of tries before I could win him.

And yes, your guess is right: Oume's next opponent will be Ella. But I prefer to wait for that. Rasputin needs to show his skills too and also I want to get our Cheap Hunter going after his first bounty. That and Arina's new battle against a character people love and hate...

Stage: Kuando's

Oume's first battle as the president of Team Draug. And for this match, she fights an old geezer... No one but Ubu.

Ubu has been created by the same author as Kuando and Ella, Aiduzzi. And like them, Ubu   more...is a bizarre yet interesting character. Gotta love his intros and winposes.

But he is also a tough guy. He can be very aggressive, build up enough energy to use a Hyper Special on you - those hurt A LOT - and make you suffer with a hard and challenging battle.

The trick is being defensive and taking advantage on his openings after some of his attacks and when he's charging energy up.

And with a character like Oume, you have to be extremely careful, but projectiles - not abusing them, though - and Oume's aura once she completes an energy bar - this comes from the original Matrimelee game, guys - are good for taking advantage.

Besides that, once again I've been 'playing' with the screenpack. Now I'm using Power Instinct Matrimelee life and energy bars - in survival rounds, it restores way more life than the old EvE bars -, but I also have added some sounds, kept the ones I had before and you get this...

Stage: Mountainside Temple (KFM's stage)

Time for a new initation... This time, we have no one but Rasputin... Not the mad monk of real History, but the crazy wizard from World Heroes - oh, well, they're nearly the same thing. xD

The version   more...of Rasputin I use was made by Mouser and you can find him at Random Select. This Rasputin stays quite true to his source game, World Heroes Perfect in this case, but has some little additions, like he is a bit faster and his Secret Garden can be used thanks to the energy levels, not waiting for him to have low life. Anyway, he still has his HERO bar and those Japanese sentences below the life bar, like in the Japanese version of WH Perfect.

And for his initiation, I thought of a wizard character... and after checking... who's the best wizard in Mugen? Kamek, the Magikoopa, of course.

I think Kamek needs no introduction, right? :P

Ths video was recorded using CamStudio. There's no banner like it happens with the trial version of HyperCam, the image quality is better and desync is no more, but the framrate is a bit lower. Maybe I could stick with this, I don't know...

Next vid will be Oume's initation... or well... I don't know if I can call it an initiation... You'll have to wait to see it and know what I mean with this.

Last of the not-WIP Sailor Scouts by Sakuraka. And it will be Leona's task to finish the work.

Minako Aino, alias Sailor Venus. In the anime, if there was someone as annoying as Sailor Moon that was Sailor   more...Venus. And here is even more annoying.

Her "love chain" causes many problems mainly because of its range and priority. But Sailor Venus has many other moves abusing of priorities and her crescent attacks are perfect for crushing your guard and dealing you a powerful punch.

Not to forget her one-hit KO special, where she launches a glowing heart that if it hits you, Minako will rip off Morrigan's Darkness Illusion and then finish the attack with a Sailor V attack. And trust me, this is the worst of the Sailor's OHKO. Fortunately, she didn't perform it here...

By the way: yeah, I'm proud of that perfect. That cheapo deserved it in Round 3.

After this, I'll begin with the initiations for Rasputin and Oume.

Stage: Street Fighter vs Mortal Kombat - Attic

The Saikyo Master will have his chance to fight a Sailor Senshi. And he got the nerdy one. xD

Actually, I have nothing against Ami Mizuno - the character -, but with her incarnation in MUGEN. Sailor Mercury   more...can be VERY annoying.

First of all, her attacks have quite a high priority. Not all of them, but you must be careful with her projectiles, specially as some of them can't be blocked in mid-air.

But the worst things are her kicks - these ones have the highest priority in her moveset - and those annoying bubbles. I've seen her summon up to three bubbles and you cannot get rid of them unless they hit you or you knock Sailor Mercury down.

Anyway, this battle was an easy one. Maybe it's because Dan's gameplay is superior. :P And I had many problems with this video... not because of the desync - there's a bit of it, but it was worse when I recorded it -, but also because Ami's clothes tear apart with nearly any of Dan's specials and supers. And I'm not here to see her boobs, actually. xD

Who will be Arina's foe this time? No one but Tifa Lockhart, from Final Fantasy VII fame. Y'know, the hyped game. Although I like FFVII, it's been overrated. Anyway, I'm not here to rant about FFVII and   more...furious fanboys...

This Tifa is made by Yamakichi. You may think this is a decent Tifa character for MUGEN, right? Well, you're half right.

Spritewise Tifa is mainly an edit of Jill Valentine and Yuri Sakazaki. Her sprites look good, but still I think they need work... and less fanservice, please. I can't stand looking at Tifa's panties in some of the frames. I like girls and all, but I'm not playing MUGEN for looking panties. :P

Her AI is aggressive, but she's all the time with the same sequence of low attacks and powerful punches. And she's specially annoying after you defeat her in the first round.

What bugs me is the "low attack" thing, it also makes her small enough to not be hit by many standing special attacks. So if you use a Hadouken against her, be sure she's standing up, because if she tries a low kick you'll totally miss her...

I felt a bit dirty playing against Tifa. Not because of the panties, but that I had to overuse Arina's projectiles. =_= And excuse the inital desynch - fortunatelly, it fixes itself in a couple of seconds. xD

By the way, I've changed some of the sounds in this screenpack. Guess next step will be the lifebars, but I have to learn to do that first...

Mudman's rival today is Sailor Mars, by Sakuraka. This version of Rei Hino is based on the Sailor Moon arcade by Banpresto and she's quite annoying - not like Sailor Jupiter, who's just tough.

Sailor Mars likes spaming her projectil attacks - fire arrow, crow or snake - and will not doubt in using the double crow special when she has enough energy. And when she's close to you, be prepared for her spining punch!

Besides that, Rei has the most powerful and unfair high level combo of the Sailor Scouts - even more than Sailor Venus'. You can watch it in this video, of course.

By the way, I said Sailor Mars is annoying, which is true, but she isn't as annoying as Sailors Mercury & Venus (also by Sakuraka) can be, but I'll show that in other videos.

Dunno exactly when, but Leona and Dan will have to deal with Ami and Minako in the near future... Is this the beginning of a rivalry between Team Draug and Sakuraka's Sailors? :P

Stage: Thin-Nen (Chinnen)'s stage in Power Instinct Matrimelee

Dan's first - serious - match as a member of Team Draug! And he'll fight against that yellow fat bald guy we all know... Yeah, it's time to see who's the strongest: Dan or Homer?

When I recorded this time,   more...Homer was still in his v1.0 - not like now, when he's v2.2. And back then, this version was more combo friendly and had many other changes like two new victory poses (one where Bart mocks the enemy and another one wher Homer impersonates Iori Yagami), some moves had been changed (goodbye Bart Slingshot and Cherry Bombs and hello Kinetic Donut and Candy Bomb) and Homer had three intros: the normal one (based on the old Konami arcade), his custom intro against Peter Griffin and a brand new one against Choujin's Dragon Ball characters. All of this is still in the v2.2 Homer.

He still has his brutal AI patch and seriously, without the Bart Slingshot's invincibility Homer turns into a tough opponent, not an annoying one. And that's GOOD. Still needs work AI-wise, but I'm glad to fight a decent foe like Homer.

So thanks to Warner, H", JudgeSpear, kingshadow3, BBHood217 and GigaBowserX for all they've done since Homer seriously stepped into MUGEN.

Stage: Reiji's stage in Power Instinct Matrimelee

Oume's initiation into Team Draug? Maybe the title says so, but this is no normal initiaton video...

Oume challenges all current five members of Team Draug to fight her in order to join their group...   more...as their president?! Anyway, this video has some sprite non-animated cutscenes. I'll be making this only in special vids like this one.

==First battle==

* I'm playing as Oume Goketsuji/Goketuji - both forms of her last name seem to be accepted, by the way, and so are Gouketsuji and Gouketuji... odd, really odd.
This old lady is one of the weirdest characters you can find in a fighting game. She comes from Power Instinct and this is her Matrimelee version. Overall she combines both her and Otane's moves from that game. Her attack, defense and specials are normal, but maybe her supers are a bit overpowered, specially the giant hand and ghost ones - although they deal more or less the same damage, they're unblockable and the ghost one has nearly no chance to be avoided if you aren't close to Oume to hit her before she releases it. Be careful if you play against her in CPU, since her AI tends to be too aggressive, although you can use this for your good, since she rarely blocks.

* First opponent is Mudman. He's pretty much AI-less, jumping around and occassionally using Mud Attack and Mud Launcher. Sometimes he will be quite defensive.

* Second one is Arina. I don't know if she really has an AI or not, but when computer controlled, she's very aggressive and quite a combo-whore. Strangely, even if she says in this video that Oume is too strong, she's the only one who presented a real fight.

* Dan is the third in the series. He's by far the hardest Dan in Mugen, since he's quite PotS-ish. But Dan isn't as far as hard as many people say. If you know Dan, you can predict his moves quite easily.

* Finally, Rasputin. Another quite AI-less character, or maybe his AI isn't that good. He plays with the fact that his attacks are strong, but he isn't a challenge at all.

==Second battle==

* Leona, as I said in the Mudman initiation video, has a competitive AI, even if she isn't a big challenge. Anyway, in both her normal and Orochi-controlled versions, she is a good opponent.

Next videos will show more of Oume's battles, since I want her to be in MKR's tournament along with Dan, both representing Team Draug. Rasputin and the rest of initiations will come later. But I already have a baldy as Lobo's first victim... :P

First, excuse me for the sound desync in most of the first round. I've had many problems recording this battle and I'm trying to see why...

Anyway, what happens when a joke character fights another joke   more...character? Here's the answer: Dan Hibiki vs Mr Satan.

Mr Satan is made by Choujin, he is a character fun to play with and against - in my opinion - and has an AI patch which makes him tougher. Not as tough as, for example, Perfect Cell with brutal AI, but he's quite a challenge in my opinion and makes a battle against him more interesting.

Back to normal matches! Team Draug's leader Leona will fight one of the Marvel vs DC project stars, no one but Lobo, the Last Czarnian.

Lobo for MUGEN has been created by Buyog 2099. "He who devours   more...your entrails and enjoys it", The Main Man, he has a quite decent MUGEN version indeed, but when controlled by the AI, he can be a pain in the ass. Not cheap, but quite hard to defeat.

When controlled by the AI, Lobo is faster than you can use him and his AI will make him constantly spam his Main Man Airlines - when he gets his SpazFrag to run over you - and his unbalanced Big Fraggin' Gun - unbalanced in both the large amount of bullets and the damage each of them deals - when he gets enough energy to make you suffer. A LOT.

But as you can see, not even Lobo is invincible. xD

This video came after I watched alshary's and JudgeSpear's videos with that MUGEN Magikarp fad long time ago (in fact, this video is more than 3 months old),   more...I said "Why not?". And since Dan lately joined Team Draug back then, he became my victim for this video...

Stage: Pokemon Coliseum

Time for another initiation video! And this time is for Dan Hibiki, in his Phantom of the Server version.

As a challenge for Dan, I went for something a bit original: pit him against versions of himself   more...made by other people. So that's why all the fighters here are... DAN HIBIKI!

- Dan by P.o.t.S. is the version I'm using in all the videos. In my opinion, this is the best version of Dan for MUGEN, a very complete one. Nearly everything from every game Dan has been is in P.o.t.S.'s version, along with some new things. That makes this Dan unique.

- Dan by R. is the least interesting of all the versions in this video. He isn't as tough as the rest of them, but this Dan is quite decent. A pity his voice is too low.

- Dan by Warusaki. Another CvS fighter and a pretty good one. Although I prefer Warusaki's Ryu and Ken, this Dan is a good character for fighting with and against him. In this video, he's using the N groove, but I'm sure he's more of a challenge in the EX one.

- Dan by Tatsu. Now this is an interesting Dan in the way that he's heavily based on the SvC Chaos Dan. But he also has some details that make him a bit more different - he even has an SNK-ized version of his run animation in CvS -. Quite tough sometimes and a pretty good choice as a character too... still, I still prefer P.o.t.S.'s Dan.

The stage I've used is the Thunder Dome from the Ninja Turtles fighting game from Super NES and the music theme is Rushing Road, from World Heroes 2 Jet.

Leona takes on Popeye in the first TOUGH battle for Team Draug!

DDR's update for Popeye by the time this video was recorded (in May) makes him one painful guy. His attack CLSNs give him an excessive range   more...even in melee attacks, his combos have a lot of priority and high speed, and let's not talk about his invincibility in some attacks. Besides that, he has his "spinach mode". Yeah, I know Popeye becomes invincible when he eats spinach, but in his MUGEN version it makes him tougher... and cheaper.

Although I expected him to be way cheaper, Popeye is unfair. That's a pity, because he could be a really nice character if some things were fixed for him, like the priority and the CLSNs.

The stage is the Korean dock from King of Fighters 98 and the music is Korean Team's theme in KOF 96 & 98, "Seoul Road".

Arina is back for more, and this time she fights Ingrid, that strange Athena Asamiya, Kula and Rose white-haired mix.

Beximus's Ingrid isn't a hard opponent overall. Anyway, if she can connect her combos,   more...Ingrid can be a bit annoying, but overall she's a good character to fight with and against.

And for a character somehow limited like Arina, she's a bit of a challenge, though nothing so big. That's why the video isn't that long...

Now it's Mudman's time for his first battle as a Team Draug member - the one for Arina's test doesn't count. For his first battle, Mudman will face Roomi, the cute girl from Sunsoft's Galaxy Fight.

This   more...version was created by Inverse and is a great improvement if you compare her with her Galaxy Fight self. Roomi is more aggressive and her combos are way better. Besides that, she has some new attacks and supers. Her AI is quite decent and sometimes tough. She also has a SUPER mode, like the one for Waku Waku 7 characters.

Tomboy galore! Team Draug's second battle and Arina's first one as a member of this team. Looks like she's going for some tough people... like Sakuraka's Sailor Jupiter. A parody of magical girls as Arina   more...versus a real magical girl as Makoto. Who will win?

Makoto Kino (aka Sailor Jupiter) is the only decent Sailor Scout in the Sailor Moon series - at least that's my opinion - and she's also a strong fighter in MUGEN. Sakuraka's version of Sailor Jupiter is heavily based on Banpresto's Sailor Moon arcade version of the Scouts.

She's quite aggressive. Her attack pattern is highly based on combos, projectiles and grabbing you in mid-air. I thought she would be a really cheap character, but actually she's more on the tough side than in the cheap one. I'm glad she isn't like that aberration called Eternal Sailor Moon.

The background is Sky Battle, based on the Ryu vs Scorpion battle in the awesome flash movie "Street Fighter vs Mortal Kombat, part 2" by Proxicide. The music is Moonlit Wilderness, from Tekken 5 - which I chose since I associate it to Proxicide's SF vs MK series.
