Sola's story revolves around Yorito Morimiya, the main protagonist, who is a young boy attending high school.   more...He loves taking pictures of the sky at any time of day and any time of the year. One day, Yorito decides to take a picture of the sunrise overlooking the bay, but is deterred when he meets a strange girl trying to force a vending machine that stole her money to give her what she tried to buy — a can of tomato juice. Yorito helps her with forcing the machine while attempting to strike up conversation with her, despite it being four in the morning. Yorito tells her why he is here, but by the time he has forced the can out of the machine, the girl has mysteriously vanished.  less

She, too, is quiet and withdrawn in their house, quite unlike at school. Shinichiro is also distracted by teasing from his friend Nobuse for watching Hiromi from afar, a curse of bad luck from a strange girl named Noe, and being forced to perform Muhiga dancing. By helping Noe he hopes to ease his own problems, yet he seems to have difficulty helping himself.  less

Ichigo Kurosaki, a 15 year old teenage boy who can see ghosts, helps a young girl ghost when some skateboarders knock over a vase offering for her. The next day Ichigo sees the young girl being chased   more...by a big monster called a Hollow. Ichigo goes to help the girl but when the girl is just about to be eaten, a female Soul Reaper, Rukia Kuchiki, appears and saves them. That night Rukia visits Ichigo’s room and is surprised when she realizes she is visible to him. While they are conversing a Hollow appears and terorizes Ichigo’s family and household. After receiving a terrible injury from the Hollow, Rukia makes a final attempt to save her life, as well as that of the Kurosaki family and transfers her powers to Ichigo so he can save his family.  less

Being billed as a Production I.G’s 20th anniversary project in collaboration with Shirow Masamune, Ghost Hound has three boys who all experienced trauma in their childhood and have learned a sort of soul   more...escape that lets their spirits enter what’s called the Unseen World. The character designs might look very familiar because they’re done by Oka Mariko of Jigoku Shoujo fame, but more importantly, several members of the staff from Serial Experiments Lain are working on this including the director and writer.  less

Blue Drop is the story of two girls: one who is the sole survivor of a mysterious incident where all the people of an island disappeared, and the other who is an alien sent to Earth to do reconnaissance   more...for an invasion. Like the manga it’s based on, the anime looks to have yuri themes (the aliens only have one gender - female), and as it’s been a while since I’ve watched a yuri show, I’m looking forward to seeing how it turns out. The animation quality looks like it’ll be really good too, so I’ve got my fingers crossed in hopes that this won’t disappoint.  less

Since that day, his tedious life begins to change…
