Marcus Brigstocke (born 8 May 1973) is an English comedian and satirist who has worked extensively in stand-up comedy, television and radio.
One of the best-known jokes Brigstocke uses is an ironic commentary   more...on the controversy regarding the influence of video games on children:

“ If Pac-Man had affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in dark rooms, munching pills and listening to repetitive electronic music. „

This joke is frequently quoted on the internet and often attributed to famous figures in electronics (such as an apocryphal CEO of Nintendo, "Kristian Wilson," although Hiroshi Yamauchi held that position from 1950 to 2002), but Brigstocke vehemently claims authorship of the joke:

“ Ah! Bloody Pacman....It is my joke. I wrote it, then I took the rest of the day off as I was so chuffed with it. I am gutted that it has been claimed and passed around by so many people. Intellectual property law will not save me, the false claims will continue until I am man enough to give it all up. The song is mainly about the dark side of Hollywood. The song opens to the "Psychic spies from China try to steal your mind's elation." Kiedis says in his book Scar Tissue that he got the inspiration   more...for the lyric from when he was in New Zealand and he heard a woman on the street ranting about there being psychic spies in China. The track also makes references to the decline in Western society ("it's the - edge of the world and all of Western civilization"), and other topics such as pornography ("hardcore soft porn") and plastic surgery ("pay your surgeon very well to break the spell of aging") and even some pop culture references including Star Wars ("and Alderaan's not far away, it's Californication"), and Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain as well as David Bowie ("Cobain, can you hear the spheres singing songs off Station to Station?"). Guitarist John Frusciante exclusively recorded this song and "Otherside" with a vintage Gretsch White Falcon hollow body electric guitar, he also played these songs live with the White Falcon until 2007 when he retired it for one of his vintage Fender Stratocasters.
In Kiedis's book Scar Tissue he reveals that the band had enormous difficulty in putting the song together. Kiedis had written the lyrics, which he felt were some of the best he had ever written, but the band could not decide how the song should sound musically. As they struggled with the song it seemed like they would not be able to finish it in time to include it on the album, until one day Frusciante walked into the studio and exclaimed that he had "figured it out". He played the song as he visualised it, and it went from being a song that could have been an afterthought, to becoming one of the Red Hot Chili Peppers' greatest hits, similar to the way "Under the Bridge" was conceived.  less

The Bastard Fairies could be termed an oxymoron. If this is the case then their music is most definitely oxymoronic. Naughty but nice, sweet and sour, beautifully macabre, wonderfully morose. Like a baby   more...with a razor blade, it'll hug you then cut you with no warning. Lead singer Yellow Thunder Woman, fiercly intelligent and clearly disturbed is that baby, assigned to take you through the many trials of life and understand that, no matter who you are, or where you've come from, we are all f**ked up and twisted and each of us a bastard fairy in our own little way. She is Native American, a direct decendant of the Great Ponca Chief Standing Bear, an Indian princess and member of the Yankton Sioux. In the Lakota language sioux means snake in the grass and Yellow Thunders inner soul is just that. She's the sort of girl who you could take to meet your ultra conservative, christian parents and appear to them to be the most perfect sweet little thing. Then, just when you think you're safe, up jumps that snake and bites into your mothers neck. Injecting her central nervous system with venomous tales of how to give great blow jobs and having extra marital affairs. But before you know it, shes served up an antidote of pure cute and all fellatious thoughts are gone. However, be aware that like herpes of the mouth it lurks in the shadows of one's conscience waiting to strike and there is no cure. Life is very short and death is very long so come on friends lets embrace our own little peculiarities and become part of the Bastard Fairy family.  less

Youism is an idea with the belief that each individual has the right to pick and choose what ever belief that makes sense to them and which will allow them to live a life of peace and happiness.

You can   more...pick and choose different aspects of other religions to create your own. The only requirement is that what you choose to believe must lead you to do good in life and not intentionally cause harm to others. The Golden Rule: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" will be your way of life.

What ever it is you believe, it is your own religion. No one has the right to force you into believing what they believe in as long as you are already leading a peaceful happy life. This goes the other way around as well.

Instead of trying to make the whole world fall under one religion, Youism seeks to create billions of different religions, each one unique to each individual. Life is about choices. If your current beliefs is a burden, let it go. Choose something that will give you happiness. If God works for you, then believe in Him with all your heart. If evolution works for you, great. If Xenu works for you, then.. um..well, you are one of the most open-minded person on this planet.. more power to you.

Also know that life is about change. The same beliefs that work for you now might not work for you at a different stage in your life. It's okay to drop some beliefs/ideas and adopt new ones. Remember, the ultimate goal is happiness.

Why the name Youism? Because it's about letting those around you believe what they want to believe and still accept them and love them and see them as equals in spiritual importance. As long as they're living a happy peaceful life and they do good unto others, that's all that matters. No one is right or wrong. Don't try to "prove" others wrong and you right.

Many religions out there, from what I see, is about "ME". It's about "I am right, you are wrong". It doesn't even matter if the other person's belief gives them peace and happiness. Youism is about respecting other people's beliefs. It's about accepting the idea that there's no right religion. It is however okay to help unhappy people find a path to happiness.


If you happen to agree with this "Youism", just add "ism" behind your name, this is your own personal religion/belief, not mine, not anyones, but yours. It's really "Your Name-ism", but Youism sounds less lame.

Maybe when we start focusing on others by focusing on ourselves and our actions and how it will effect others and on what makes us happy and to simply do more of it, instead of forcing others to believe in what we believe and what we think will make them happy, there will be less wars and violence in this world. (Now that is what is called a RUN-ON sentence)
