British troops in the Royal Dragoon Guards at their Al Faw base in Iraq do a spoof of Tony Christie's song, "Amarillo". Their version is called, "Is This The Way To Armadillo?" Well, this is interesting.   more...That music video from the Norwegian troops, to the tune of the Beach Boys' "Kokomo"? After getting out on the Internet, it sparked a full-blown (and admittedly, legitimate) diplomatic incident.
Yahoo News and Al-Jazeera both cover the clash. But only Winds of Change.NET has the lyrics, along with the video links to "Kosovo" and the full version of the British Dragoons' "Is This The Way To Armadillo"...

Larry Dumlao, from the 56th Rescue Squadron's pararescue team in Iceland, sent in this video to grouchymedia.com. He filmed, edited, and stared in. It features video he shot using his home video camera   more...and a helmet-cam from helmetcamera.com. He made it in between moving from Iceland to Virgina, and now teaches personnel recovery operations and training for the DoD.

What does a soldier think about when they are alone, lying in the desert with their eyes closed, trying to drowned out the sounds of gun & mortar fire, explosions and wind blown sand? A killer video featuring tons of action shots of Recon units from East Timor. This is one of three recon videos sent in by D Roach, and uses another great track from Linkin Park. Crank it up and joy!

Someone going by the name of "THUD", did an awesome job on this one and it carries a powerful message. Using Linkin Park's "Nobody's Listening", this video focuses on our military   more...response to 9/11 and the message that we're trying to send. Since GrouchyMedia isn't a place for politics I'll just leave it at that and leave you to interpret any deeper meanings.

I don't know much about THUD. There was a video from him in early 2004 that wasn't ready for posting online but was a good first effort. Then THUD sent in this one after getting Adobe Premiere and little more practice editing. It's definitely some nice work and I'm proud to post it on the site.

So if you like Linkin Park and the lyrics to "Nobody's Listening", you'll definitely like this video. By using lines such as "blood, sweat, and tears" and "heart full of pain", timed perfectly to images of war in action, we get a real sense of the difficulties our soldiers face. This isn't a sappy video or a glossy look at war from high up at 10,000 feet from plane footage. We get a good balance of success, sacrifice, and struggle that US and allied forces are facing and going through.

Let the Bodies Hitthe Floor

Welcome to Die Terrorists Die. This video once again features some amazing clips and images of various US and Allied Armed Forces, and is considered the sequel to Taliban Bodies. The music this time is   more..."Die M.F. Die", by Dope, a band who grew up where I now live in West Palm Beach, FL. The song is hard, it's loud, and it pretty much makes my point to the terrorists clear.
While Taliban Bodies focused mainly on military weaponry and equipment, this new one is entirely dedicated to the men and woman who operate the machinery and put their lives on the line to fight for the rest of us. Almost every picture and clip used in Die Terrorists Die came directly from people in the service, including a bunch of shots taken in 2002, during the war in Afghanistan.  less

It's about time we had a video for the Coast Guard and this one makes the wait worthwhile! It was made by Brian Shajari, a Port Security Specialist in the   more...Coast Guard Reserves, who goes to college when not called for active duty. He tell (GM) he used Windows Movie Maker 2 for the editing and found the material on several Coast Guard websites and from some friends.

I think the music choice is perfect using "Somewhere I Belong" by Linkin Park. Brian worked on several versions of this video and this final edit goes prefectly to the music. There are high quality pictures and video of various Coast Guard units in action that most people have never seen before. Hopefully more people will have a chance now to see what a great force our US Coast Guard and Coast Guard Reserve provides for us at home and overseas!
