I want to share with you a place I truly love. It's on the Bruce Penninsula, between Lake Huron and Georgian Bay. I always dread the 7-7 1/2 hour drive, but once I get there and get outside with my camera,   more...the weary traveller disappears and is replaced by the nature lover. You'll see why. The birds are a challenge to photograph, especially when they're squabbling about who eats first keeps them away from the seeds and the cameras.

The birds like black sunflower seeds, but they love peanuts.

The birds have landed on my friend's camera... and hat, head, coat and anything else that gets them closer to the seeds.

Trish feeds the chickadees. Some of them landed on my hand holding the camera prior to landing to feed from her hand.

A little south of Mount Rose summit are some large meadows. Southeast of them are some spruce woods, and chickadees in the woods have learned to eat sunflower seeds from the hands of skiers and snowshoers.   more...The birds are loads of fun, and a challenge, to photograph. My friend and I hiked there February 10. Lots of snow, cold temperatures, and a biting wind made us appreciate our gear. The woods became a wonderland.  less

My buddy headed down the trail while I paused to video-tape another view of the increasing snowfall.

As the snow intensified, it grew slightly crisp, and when it landed on my nylon top layer of clothes, it was distinctly audible.
