The I35-W over the Mississippi river is being rebuilt quickly.

A large crane attempts to pull a bus out of the water. The weight is too much for the crane and it crashes on the bus.

Amazingly, they thought to put some sawdust at the bottom.

The new Bridgeton Covered Bridge was lifted into place on August 28, 2006. As soon as the bridge was set in place the building crew made the first jump from the bridge into Raccoon Creek.

I hiked along, crossed a small brook on   more...a log bridge, passed under hissing high tension wires and soon found myself arching out over a rushing Ten Mile River on the Ned Anderson Memorial Footbridge. Mr. Anderson had
