Homemade cannon shooting stuff.

In this video, Springfieldarsenal.com builds and tests cannon ammunition made from 2.5 inch, schedule 80 PVC pipe. Rounds intended as short-range canister rounds which are to open up in flight use four slots cut each 90 degrees around the pipe section for about half its length. The canister round with bolts did not open up satisfactorily because the bolts were taped together too securely and range was short. Powder charges were usually 8 oz. of 2FA black powder, not normally used for cannon firing, but it was used here for convenience. All proper cannon firing safety precautions were observed even if not shown in the final cut of the video.  less
