...My best work to date.
So a few weeks ago I was digging through my DVD collection and I found a movie I used to love... Kill Bill Vol. 1. So, just for the heck of it, I put it in, and in that movie,   more...I found the perfect song.
Now, this was originally going to be a cool trailer thing for Avatar, but then I realized that Kill Bill really emphasizes its strong female characters, so I figured I'd do the same in my video. I would have included Mai and Ty Lee but this song operates in threes (how convenient!). So, it became Katara, Toph, and Azula, the daughters of the elements. All three are bending masters, possibly THE bending masters for their element (at least for their age group). And you just don't see many videos made for those three girls alone.
Oh, and the whole "red-stripe-with-an-eye-in-it" thing was inspired by the credits of "V for Vendetta", which I saw a while ago and I've been wanting to make a video where I could use it ever since. And the slight frame freezes after a hit were meant to be a slight tribute to Martin Scorsese's "Goodfellas", but the song is too short to hold the video in one spot for more than a fraction of a second, so... that effect may have been lost.
...I like movies.

Today marks the one year anniversary since I uploaded my very first Avatar music video. It took 7 days to acquire one comment on that video, and another 7 days for a second. People have since commented   more...numerous times, often with phrases like "From humble beginnings the great do rise," which can be taken two ways in my mind.
I have many reasons for choosing this song. You may be familiar with an AMV to the same song by FancyClancy, a video I credit as my one greatest inspiration for making Avatar videos. I figured it was time I returned to the source of my newfound passion.
This is not your typical Outside Looking In Production, but I hope you enjoy it nonetheless. It means a lot to me.

This is just a spoof... Toph and Katara are best friends in high school. After they graduate, Katara leaves town, while Toph marries Aang. Aang starts abusing her. They divorce, and she gets a restraining   more...order, but he puts her in intensive care. Toph and Katara decide to kill Aang. Iroh is the divorce agent, and Zuko and Azula are the police. The song is "Goodbye Earl" by the Dixie Chicks.  less

One year ago, I came across an Avatar fan video on youtube. It was a curious little project, barely a minute and a half long, for the Fire Nation's leading lady. I remember how the music sent chills down   more...my spine. I remember the clip where she kicks the rocks away on the drill, right when the drums come in. I remember watching this video at least twice a day... until one day, it was gone. This is my resurrection of that video (only, you know, done my way.)

Well, actually, it's more of just the bad guys....

Jet has just graduated from college, earning a B.A. in English. Searching for somewhere to live, he finds himself on the Fire Nation territory known as   more...Avenue Q. When he reaches there, he finds the locals complaining about their lives--Zuko just got laid off, Azula can't find a boyfriend, Xin Fu and Yu are still trying to work out their partnership, Mai the Japanese therapist is upset with Zuko's unemployment, but someone's life is even worse than all of theirs.

Face it, these people all have issues in the series, and "Gary Coleman" probably has the biggest problem of all of them. Being dead and all....

Yay! My 30th video! *dances* I really wanted my 30th to be something great, and I couldn't have wished for a better 30th! It's mainly about Zuko and Azula and the   more...Avatar state and was inspired by the one below. I've been wanting to make this one for months and it just kind of exploded. I'm really proud of it, though. It's full of angsty, actioiny goodness! ^^

So back to the "inspired by" thing. I came across a link to a video on another website as featured video of the week and it was just so amazing I had to make one for Avatar.Although the two videos are for two different shows, you may notice some general similarities between the clips used.
