Hello everyone, I am sorry that I am late with this video but windows movie maker was not cooperating with me this past days. This is a little explanation what we Mexican really celebrate on May 5th
The   more...fifth of May, the celebration of a Mexican victory in the war against the French in 1862. For some reason many years ago Americans thought it was our Independence Day, (by the way Mexican Independence day is celebrated on September 16.)
Cinco de Mayo widely anticipated and embraced by the gringo community as a rite of spring and an excuse to drink Margaritas in excess, Cinco de Mayo celebrations are held by Latino residents all south of California.
I edited this video with video clips of Mexican Folklore dances; some of them are from the famous “Amalia Hernandez Ballet in Mexico City. At the end of the video you will see the pictures I took on Old Town, we also visited the famous Whaley House according to the Travel Channel's "Americas Most Haunted", Thomas Whaley built Whaley House in 1856. The home is a two-story Greek revival style brick building. It cost $10,000 to build which was quite a lot of money in the 1850's. The home is a very important part of San Diego history. The home was built on the site where public hangings occured. One ghost that appears is said to be "Yankee Jim". He was hanged on the gallows of the back of a wagon in 1852. In addition to being the Whaley family home, it housed a granery, the County Courthouse, San Diego's first commercial theatre, various businesses including Thomas Whaley's own general store, a ballroom, a billiard hall, school, and polling place. Downstairs in the home you will find the Courtroom, General Store, Dining Room, Study, and Parlor.  less

The Menger Hotel, located in downtown San Antonio, Texas, was built in 1859 (23 years after the fall of the adjacent Alamo). In 1898, Teddy Roosevelt used the bar to recruit Rough Riders which fought   more...in Cuba in the Spanish-American War.
The Menger was San Antonio's most popular hotel in the 19th Century. O. Henry, Robert E. Lee, Ulysses S. Grant, Dwight D. Eisenhower, Mae West, Oscar Wilde and others were known to frequent the bar and hotel, which was periodically enlarged and remodelled to accommodate more guests.
In 1876, the first public demonstration of barbed wire ever was held outside the Menger and orders taken afterwards inside. In 1885, Richard King, the south Texas entrepreneur and founder of the King Ranch, died at the Menger. In 1907, the San Antonio section of the National Council of Jewish Women was organized at the Menger.
The hotel also holds the unofficial title of "the most haunted hotel in Texas."
Richard King of the King Ranch has been seen many times entering a wall where a door to his room once was. Also, on the couch in the lobby a woman wearing a red tam has been seen and spoken to by staff.
The picture of the cattle and cowboys was in the famous movie, "Giant".
