Calling all stereoscopic 3D vloggers. It’s time to communicate. My calendar says it’s 2007…
To see this video in 3D, you need to wear red/cyan 3D anaglyph glasses with the red lens over the left eye.

I'm trying to get people up and running in 3D as quickly as possible. So, first make your stereoscopic 3D video with one cam by watching my first video on that topic, then download StereoMovie Maker (Google   more...it) and follow the instructions in this video to make an anaglyph version for red/cyan glasses.
Don't try to look at this video tutorial in 3D. An anaglyph's worst enemy is lossy compression, and this video was _recorded_ with a lossy codec and then re-encoded to Flash... if uploaded to a site like LiveVideo.com, that is an additional lossy encoding on top of that!!! Yikes... bad, bad, bad. You might get away with one with anaglyph... never three.
This can also be done with VirtualDub freeware, as well as with Adobe After Effects.  less

I hear, quite often, that people would make video comments and responses if it was a "one click" process, i.e. easy to do.
Making videos really isn't that difficult.
Are people telling the whole   more...truth? Are they being honest with themselves or others?
What are the real reasons that people won't make video comments or responses?
What about people in general, i.e. not "videobloggers"? Why won't the average "John or Jane Doe" make talking head videos? That was really my main question (or should have been)... not whether or not a videoblogger would make a video comment or response, but why *most* people won't make talking head videos, at all.
What are the "real" reasons for this?
I'm convinced the reasons are based more in "fear", not technological issues, e.g. "it is difficult to do, because of problems with the camera or computer, etc."
What are people afraid of?

Hopefully, I will get better and better at this, but this video shows the two most important things, IMO, for making good 3D anaglyph videos for LiveVideo or other Flash video sites.
The first thing to   more...do is minimize the depth. It only takes a little bit to get the job done. An "optimum" amount is actually a lot less than most people probably realize, anyway, and "a little too much" will absolutely kill your videos when you try to compress them.
The other most important thing to do is properly set your screen parallax to a point that works the best. If done "incorrectly", the compression can make the video unwatchable.
Keep in mind that you have to compress your video to begin with for video sites like LiveVideo, so that the file size is small enough for you to be able to upload, and then the video site will again compress that video to Flash. This double-whammie of compression will guarantee that a "poorly designed" anaglyph will be totally destroyed in the process. Only the most carefully designed anaglyphs will survive.

Here's my coolest pair of 3D glasses, and the brief story behind them. Let's see your coolest pair, and hear a little bit about them... I know I probably don't have the very coolest pair...
As I show   more...in the vid, I got these "very cool looking" red/blue glasses in a book called "Visual Foolery" from Waldenbooks in a shopping mall, but you really should try and find a very cool pair of red/cyan glasses, not red/blue. The colors on a computer monitor will look "more natural".
A Google search for "free 3d glasses" should give you plenty of options for places to get a free pair of red/cyan glasses in the mail.
