At least it looks an individual style unlike so many new houses in the UK!
I gather they have to rely on a sceptic tank and spring water rather than the village infrastructure?

yes all houses up our Road rely on a septic tank of their own, but we do have running piped water, all of the village water comes from a big well up in the mountains.
