Yes they are beautiful, but they're not "ducks", PoorMe. Loons are a separate genus from ducks. You can tell the difference, even from a distance, by the way they sit really low in the water. It's kind of a sad call, isn't it... Thank you.

This was beautiful. When I think of loons, I think of the movie "On Golden Pond" when Katherine Hepburn yelled, "The loons! The loons! They're welcoming us back." Isn't is odd, the things we remember? Very nice video, Lynn.

Ahhh... the haunting sound of Loons on a northern lake. They always seem so relaxing and peaceful. Kinda reminds me of summer when I was a kid. Very nicely done. You've found some great imagery to accompany the music. Thanks for sharing. CHHEERS, JOHN

These birds are from North America. In the UK they are known as Great Northern Divers. The lead sinkers are illegal now, but these wonderful birds are still suffering the consequences of the lead used in the past. Thank you for watching and for your more...
