i liked the second gun better

Me too. But shooting it out the window risks complaints. You just can't make supersonic quiet.

I will be getting a 300 Whisper upper for it. We'll see how that does when I can get a suppressor in that caliber.

first shots with the silencer and the last with out?

next day on the news, a man was killed walking in the woods in Delco, PA yesterday, police are still on the look out for the shooter

nice rifle you have there(i know nothing about guns sorry)

The first 14 shots were with 22LR from a suppressed Marlin 880SQ. The last two were 223 Rem from a suppressed AR custom rifle. The bullet fragments in my hand were from the 223 Rem.

How many yards; what position? Thanks for helping me keep the "killer cans' under control.

Posted Jan 25, 09 by Fudmottin
I didn't measure it. But it wasn't too far. Maybe forty or so yards from a kneeling position. I've got a ragged hole on the side they went in with the exception of a few flyers. Exiting, I've got a larger group.

I'm not quite sure how that works.   more...

What happened to the good ol days of making crushed ice? Nice shots, but I would have aimed for the UPC, ya know. The whole Screw the Economy THING! HIT FAVE. /nice to see ya making vids.

I tossed the can onto the pond before I knew the ice was thick enough for me to walk on. So it was where it landed.

I definitely heard a couple of the .22 bullets slap into the trees. That .223 shot took me by surprise. Guess it was the coup de grace?

Posted Jan 23, 09 by Fudmottin
Yeah, the lead on wood hits are unmistakable. Fortunately there is a line of McMansions to act as a back up to the back stop ;-)

Before I edited out the long pauses, that .223 shot took _me_ by surprise while watching the raw playback.

Here we see the great white hunter FUDMOTTIN stalking his prey of delicious chocolate covered peanuts......they never stood a chance.

BTW please go check to see if the guy standing in the woods is still breathing.

Looks bad for him. On the bright side, I've now got some new camo, night vision gear, and a few other goodies.

Do you think the foxes will eat him? I don't know if they eat carrion or not.

It's gotta be pretty tough hitting the target in that cold with the shivering and cold fingers

It was actually pretty warm by then. About 38F / 3.3C.

Glare was a bit of an issue.
