Ike is right. My motto has been,
" Ride like your invisible because to cagers, YOU ARE!"
Anything to add to your visibility while you ride is a plus. As for me,
Headlight modulators
Yellow reflective vest.

crap.)
Blinkers on mirrors
Top box with 3rd brake light
Stebel air horn.
Air activated blinking lights on one of my helmets.
Hell, if I could put sparklers and wear a clown helmet to get people to notice me, I would. Stay safe out there buddy.

Another tip: YOU ARE INVISIBLE to everyone and everything!! Everyone and everything else has the right of way when you are on a street bike! Be ready to yield and/or react to everyone that you can see in your peripheral and your rear view no matter

what lane they are in.
If you plan to jump right into the urban riding thing then you need to get down to the local library tomorrow and check out a book called "Proficient Motorcycling" by David Hough. He has timeless advice on all types of riding and especially urban survival techniques! I use all of them every single time that I ride! Well worth the read while the weather is cold and it will help you to focus on the skills that you need to focus on to be the best street rider that you can be.
Have fun and enjoy the new ride!
