Hey I loved the performance sounded great too :) Plus had a question. What kind of Jazz is this? The song you had played really put me in interest with jazz. Really would be appreciated.

Thanks. This would be.. I suppose just your standard swing and bossa nova. The song we were playing is a very common jazz "standard" (set of classic jazz songs commonly performed). If you liked this, check out jazz artists like Miles Davis (in the Miles

Davis Quintet era), Stan Getz, Freddie Hubbard etc..

Really enjoyed that, thank you! You have a rainbow of talents!
Now.. I have some questions:
1. Have you ever made your way to jazz class when it's completely dark at 5 or 6pm? I've not been in London during winter.. but I know in other parts of Europe..
4pm is not unusual (for it to be dark). I ask because we wandered with you to class in this video and I thought it might be a bit scary on your own, in the dark?
2. What kind of tea did you buy before class? Speaking of which, I've been trying to get hold of African Kwazulu tea since you drank it on video. I was in Brisbane for 5 days last week and went to a tea speciality shop there and they didn't have it. But they told me several people had asked for it. I'm curious!
3. As you might be able to tell now, the q's are in no particular order! The train you travelled on looked pretty good.. especially where you sat.. complete with table at your disposal. Cool. Ok..that wasn't a question.
4. Is that what you were wearing at work (jeans and sneakers)? Or did you get changed for the class?
5. Did you have any kind of break-up thing with Geoff, Barry, Andrew..etc.. afterwards to celebrate final one for the year? A meal? Cup of tea?
In the words of 'Miranda Priestly' - "That's All"!
:-)

Wow. Ok in answer to your questions:
1. Yes, when I first started doing these courses last October, it was already dark by 5/6pm. And yeh, in the middle of winter it'll be dark by about 4pm. Depressing lols. As for walking to class - well for one I wouldn't
more...
be alone really. New Cross gate is a very busy area. London as a whole is usually busy with people and well lit. I've never actually felt scared out when its dark. I walk home alone at midnight and I feel perfectly safe. Its different here than in Sydney.
2. Ahh I just drank normal tea.. ur standard regular tetleys or whatever. Its prob some combination of assam. They don't get too fancy at the student cafe lol. The South African Kwazulu tea.. mm yeh we can only get that from Selfridges here. It's quite a specialty tea.
3. Haha. Yeh, the train i caught was a southern train. One of the many different rail companies they have here. I caught it from just outside London (Kent) where my work is located. Hence thats why the carriage was really empty. Coz I work out in the sticks.
4. Yeh thats what I wore to work. Work in IT tends to be pretty casual unless you work for a bank. Every job I've had here so far has been casual dress. Esp agencies, they are always casual.
5. We went for a quick drink at the local pub afterwards. However last week wasn't the final week. We have more performances from other students this week - it spans over two weeks to fit everyone in. So whoever didn't perform last week does so this week. And then we'll prob all go celebrate end of year at the pub. :)

P.S. I agree with Federov100 about the typography... always. You know what you're doing! I'm also P*s*d that Mr Fed is one of my subscribers and hasn't commented on any of my video's of late. I know now that he's alive.. but the trouble is, I don't

I think that Dizzy Gillespie ruined it for me. LOL I used to be a big fan of Dixie Land Jazz.

Ah ok. I'm not a huge fan of Dixieland. I prefer the era of Miles Davis and cool jazz. Stan Getz, John Coltrane, Freddie Hubbard... even some Herbie Hancock.

Hi Kazzart, love your video.... and here's something I'm sure you don't hear everyday: great typography...(I'm a graphic designer, I notice things like that). Love seeing London, please keep taking your camera into the streets (as it happens, my girlfriend

is in London today, wish I were there with her too). ...And very, very impressive work on the keyboard, I really got into your solo part... (do pianists generally lead?)...

Hahaha thankyou. I like this particular font. :) As for pianists leading - any instrumentalist can lead. Think about jazz groups like the Keith Jarret Trio, Oscar Peterson Trio.. Even bass players or drummers can lead. Its whoever is the band leader,

or in the pro world, whoever started the band or chose the song and hence the arrangement of the song to be played. Every band has a band leader.
