I never knew Canada was the number 1 miner of uranium...9862 tons in 2006. The US has buried well over 600,000 tons of depleted uranium in 4 states. We also spread over 300 metric tons of DU in 1991 in the middle east. A friend of mine just returned

from the middle east and said vehicles in theater are hot with radiation, so this tells me were still laying down DU and soldiers will continue to get sick...Sad... This will continue to destroy the people in that region forever! I wish you Canadians the best.

preparation for the mediation, they have moved their supplies and equipment out from behind the gate to the space between the fence and the road, creating a very visible presence there round the clock. The upcoming mediation process marks a victory so far, and expands the fight into a new arena. Meanwhile, individuals and groups are keeping up the pressure with hunger strikes, concerts, information meetings, networking, marches, letters to editors, lobbying of politicians, legal initiatives, and much else. Vitally important to the whole effort is continued material support and an ongoing Aboriginal and settler presence at the Robertsville site.
This historic Native-settler alliance is our greatest strength in this fight. As we continue to build together, the public and the government must hear our united voices and act. - Helen Forsey

their argument.
First Nations people have filed a counter suit - we'll see what the conclusion is in court - stay TUNED!
