Read that book many yrs.ago, and have been thinking about picking it up again. Unbelievably talented, driven, and facinating - that Michelangelo. Back in my yacht captain days, I spent a summer in Viareggio, on the coast in NW Italy. On a clear day you

could see the marble quarries at Carrara, miles to the north. Looked like snow capped mountains. I understand that the stuff is still being quarried there in much the same manner as when he was a lad. I thought about that amazing man often that summer. Glad I found you, btw. You make me smile.

Interesting. I am your opposite. I love history and non-fiction, but understand that a fictional presentation can add some color to things I suppose. I am reading "Human Givens" right now, a book about emotional health and clear thinking. I love learning

about behavior aspects of we humans and evolutionary perspectives. I might take you up on your recommendation however as that is another one of my loves, exploring the interests of others.

That's great... you know what historical fiction does for me? It get's me interested in the subject and then I learn more about it through the non-fiction venues.

It was made into a movie in the sixties. I loved the book. I too enjoy that type of book.

NO WAY! I'll have to find it and watch it after I'm done with the book. Although movies made from books are usually quite disappointing. Except for Stand By Me. That movie rocks.

Thank you for the recommendation. If you get to Italy again you have to see the Statue of David. One note, the last time I went they wouldn't let me near the David because I was carrying a backpack. Luckily I had seen it before, but that was upsetting.

Yeah they were hard core about the cameras in the chaple. All the people crowded together and security yelling about cameras made me not enjoy it. I wish they would only take like 20 people in at a time.

No way! When I went to St. Peter's at the Vatican, they don't let in people with bare shoulders or pants/skirts above the knee. They were nice to me and let me in. :)

Sounds like an exciting book to let your imagination wander.
I am re-reading David Viscott's book "Emotional Resilience". You can Google for the synopsis.
I am struck by point #4: "Accept yourself as you are." It's a struggle we all have to go through

By the way, I love the green jacket. The buttons are quite unique.
