I'm no mechanic but I always stop and offer up assitance even if it is only the use of a phone or a helping hand.

I would too if I saw someone having trouble that needed help. Hmm, maybe I didn't look like I needed help.

Yeah, it could have been. I'm out $220 in parts to get the bike back on the street, which includes new chain, sprockets, clutch push rod, seal, seal plate and chain guard. I don't think losing a chain could ever be cheap.

At least it didn't happen on your way down to Deals Gap. This makes me somewhat worried as I've just put a chain on my bike with a master link and split pin. I'd go for a soft rivet link instead. As you say, damn lucky it didn't lock up your rear wheel.

I was really lucky. I'm going to try to stay away from those types of master links from now on, but my fancy new RK x-ring chain came with the clip type master link. It was supposed to have the rivet type. I'll see if I can peen over the pins, but if   more...

That's good nothing got damaged, I had a weird dream like a week ago that my chain came off, and boy did it fuck some shit up, I hope it never happens. I need to get AAA also like 80 bucks for a year with 200 mile towing range.

The chain did mess up the clutch push rod, when it came off, so I am waiting for parts now. At least the motor wasn't hurt.
