Wavering Desire

I came upon her moonlit smile
Unable to escape all the while
What I could not hesitate
She entered the room all aglow
With an offer wanting more
While anxiety dreamt of tomorrow
So easily to willingly succumb
Imagining eternal salvation’s embrace
Landlocked yet emotionally confined
Within youthful wanting invariably encased
Where the mind before often strayed
Along corridors of lust once so easily betrayed
Now for whatever reason the sun also rises
Where she momentarily smiles as if to offer salvation
That is where you will find these aged eyes entrapt
Captured by the thought of what may never be yet might
If not in some distant future then perhaps tonight
