| Determined, stubborn, and hungry are just a few words that describe King B, but the best word to describe him is confident. King B was born Bryan Butler on June 22nd 1983 in Zanesville Ohio. King B grew up listening to Hip Hop, and influenced by the deep lyrical content of 2pac; knowing, that even though things were rough at times, he could succeed. So, King B decided to take the experiences in his life and put them on paper. In 2003 King B had his son Trace. At the time that Trace was born more...King B was bouncing back and forth between New Concord Ohio and Zanesville Ohio, trying to balance his personal life with work, and using any free time he had to write lyrics. As time went on, King B knew he had to do more than just work dead end jobs in fast food if he wanted to provide the type of life to Trace that he never had the chance to live when he was growing up. But it wasn’t until 2005 that King B took his interest in Hip Hop from a hobby to a career. He started writing to the beats of songs by artists that influenced him such as 2pac, T.I., Notorious BIG, Jay-Z, Nas, and many more. As time went on, King B kept perfecting his craft and finally saw some hope in what he was doing. He was talking with his good friend JQ and found out that JQ was looking for a new artist to join his label, N.F.L Records. JQ took an interest in what King B was doing from the beginning and decided that King B would make a good addition to the label. King B recorded “King of the City” featuring JQ, which was his first song. But just when King B was getting ready to sign a deal with N.F.L Records, things started to change. N.F.L Productions was trying to build up their roster of artists, but this became a problem. Some of the artists that N.F.L Productions was taking an interest in gave King B problems.
