Make sure you go to the archives and right back to July, or you'll miss the best parts. As of late May, 2008, when I posted the last batch of videos, there has been a problem with the site and the videos play slowly with distorted voices and frequent stops. I have sent bug reports now three times without any response from the tech staff. I'm disappointed that there has been no fix, but hope it will be done soon. Generally, I dislike being around spiders, but this one was fascinating. The web didn't radiate out from a centre point like with the spiders I'm used more...to seeing, but came outwards from a wonderful "ladder" structure down the middle that the spider used to run up and down to where he's go across the web to get the prey he caught. And at the top he had woven an incredible rectangular 'house' for himself. less

A Cape Buffalo takes a mud bath at the edge of the waterhole at Ponwani Hide. The mud not only helps keep him cool, but when he wallows he rubs off some more...of the ticks and coats himself so the flies can't bite so badly. less

We would have to try to identify the elephants, see if they looked healthy, tell who they more...were hanging out with, what they were doing, where they came from and where they were going. The peaceful surroundings made it a job I especially enjoyed. less

These are small sleeping houses built around the homestead. When a man is too old to live with his mother but not yet married, he builds one of these more...on the homestead property. He uses it for sleeping and generally still eats and hangs out with the family in the central area of the homestead. less
