It's not really "easy to read" and I wouldn't say it's right about everything at all but Webster Tarpley's book "Synthetic Terror: Made in the USA" is   more...really interesting. Tarpley loves big words but it's still a good book. There's lots of interesting stuff on the National Security Archives at gwu.edu and a ton of great papers on Phil Taylor's site at Leeds. All the books on the reading list at CIA.gov are interesting. I think the best way to get a sense of what's going on is to look at the declassified government documents. There's always a big gap between what they say at the time and what the truth turns out to be. Since you're young you can still apply to Mi5 and Mi6... call them up and tell them you're interested in working there and you want a reading list and you want to know what to study. They'll probably recommend some interesting stuff.  less
