| | me so... | | | Monday, July 14, 2008 (11:11 PM) (I'm feeling tired) | | been back at work for a few weeks now and it's still an odd place..
some people have come to the end of their contract and new people have replaced them, and others are still hanging on by sheer luck.. or something because while in some cases there is real skill and talent, in more than a couple others, it's not.
same applies in every place i have worked, so it's not that much of a shocker. i still like the free coffee, the free soda though..
i'm not sure if i will come back to LV any time soon for video uploading .. more so that i don't really have the time during the week to do more than read for a bit, play with the dog and grab a bit to eat , then sleep, and go back to work.. rinse, repeat.. when one is paid by the hour, the hour becomes more important than the play..
i'll probably still make comments, but who knows... | | | 15 Views | 4 Thumbs Up | 2 Comments

| | few things here... | | | Tuesday, June 17, 2008 (3:13 PM) (I'm feeling sore) | | first things first.. if you think you have left enough braking distance, leave more because you probably more... sliding and landing on your shoulder hurts. good thing i'm built like the proverbial shit brick outhouse and was wearing armor and had kevlar on my knees or things would have been a more worse..
pedestrians, please don't start walking in front of vehicles that are coming towards you.. yes, i know you have the right of way, but pain fucking sucks and it's not always possible to stop safely. i stopped with lots of distance between myself and the truck but the front tire skidded and bike went down.. i went one way, the bike went another..
gay marriage.. i think it's a good thing.. i have no interest in marriage for myself, but it is not my place, nor is it anyone else's place in life to distact what is love. yes yes, there are financial aspects to it all, and social aspects, but at the end of the day, it's love.. get over yourselves.
if you can't get over the fact that some people are just going to love one another, i dunno... i'm not religious, but i can't believe that jesus sat down with anyone and said "love everyone 'cept those people over there. you know.. those fags. " I was under the impression that jesus had said "love everyone. ".
get over yourselves.. you're not that special, and i'm pretty sure you're not going to the so called heaven, by condeming anyone or beating or telling anyone that they are bad or unclean or or anything other than human.
the best and wisest thing i have ever done in my life was making the realizaion that sleeping in on Sundays was a good thing, and just being good for the sake of feeling nice about good, and not the fear of hell. that was in something like in 6th grade or so..
if you can't be good just for the sake of being nice, just die already and save the rest of us the resouces we we need to carry on living in a happy and a relatively chill environment . :)
passive agressive behavior.. stop this shit already... it's irritating

| | why am i not shocked... | | | Friday, June 6, 2008 (11:31 PM) (I'm feeling sick) | | 1/3 of [American] high school graduates never read another book for the rest of their lives.
42 percent of college graduates never read another book after college.
80 percent of U.S. families did not buy or read a book last year.
70 percent of U.S. adults have not been in a bookstore in the last five years.
57 percent of new books are not read to completion.
70 percent of books published do not earn back their advance.
70 percent of the books published do not make a profit.

What i should tell you though, is that site is a publishing site and they want your money and time.. When I came across those numbers i figured the page was just a research group.. But then I looked at it and was like "you suck almost as much as people who don't read"

| | Freedoms... | | | Wednesday, June 4, 2008 (12:20 PM) (I'm feeling accomplished) | | (no, i'm not returning yet. I'm just pasting this comment because i'm pleased with myself for creating an annoyingly long comment as a reply to a couple comments to my original comment, as well as mixing two debated freedoms into an unrelated video. i hate those comment boxes. those little inch wide boxes make my eyes tweak out a little and i invariable either double something up or leave something out. anyway.. the original vid is at http://www.livevideo.com/video/CrioGeniC/4BEB5C8AEF6C4E478B205CB1E76B36F8/what-motorcycle.aspx?m_tkc=13638004 )
I/We live in a country that has people who want the freedom to not wear helmets. I really don't give two rips if people shred their brain matter on the pavement.. What I do care about is increasing insurance rates and the inability of the average driver to pay attention because the tests for both driving and riding are pathetic.
The fact that the average speeds are higher in the UK and Europe than in the US and the death rate is lower, says to me that is definitely improving things. Yes, I know some states have stretches of fast road, but on average Europe/UK is faster (or was when I was there last).
I do agree with the weight/power idea, but that would would complicate things really quickly because of models. An easier method would be to just say "Right, you can't go on the highway" or "Until you have this many miles of experience, you have a vehicle that can't go over x MPH". I know that will be as popular as a genital wart, but if i remember, most accidents happen within the first year (I forget the miles) of driving/riding, so doesn't it make sense to limit the amount of damage that can be done?
It's like the freedom to have guns.. When a tragedy happens, people say "Oh no, another kid blew his classmates away..." because a) either his parents were too dumb to have guns b) the freedom to have guns needs to be protected at all costs c) we needed those bodies for the body farm and tests, so it's actually a good thing.
everything can be justified or brought down into a "well, it's a good theory, but..." but at the end of the day, if as humans we want to change how things are, we need to get out collective thumb out and just accept that guns kill people, people are shitty riders and drivers, mainly because of a lack of standard quality instruction. | | | 44 Views | 0 Thumbs Up | 0 Comments

| | Taking a 'break'... | | | Tuesday, May 20, 2008 (11:19 PM) (I'm feeling tired) | | I no longer feel any inclination to make videos and post them for people.. Maybe it's the one video that really did it for me. The one video that I thought was abject shit and which in it's time got more views and comments that made me disheartened. The few I actually have put time in never got comments or views and while it's not really about the views or e-fame, neither of which I care too much about in the grand scheme of things, I was just shocked that the things i don't give two shits about are the ones that got views..
Oh well. All videos will be removed shortly, not deleted (well, maybe.. it probably wouldn't be a bad thing) and I'll be back at some point... | | | 52 Views | 4 Thumbs Up | 2 Comments

Of course not, they are making enough money and politely told him to fuck off.

| | questions of qualifications.... | | | Wednesday, May 14, 2008 (11:38 PM) (I'm feeling quixotic) | | i don't have a phd in anything.
i trust that i don't know the path to the end of my life and most of the time i am content with that..
what i am not content with is people who are no more educated than me, trying to convince me and others that they have a better opinion on something i probably have better experience with.
i also dont like my heartstring being played by people i do not know well enough to trust with anything more than a 1 dollar bill. it is less saddening and more annoying when people try to get me to feel for more something i patently do not give too rips about because i have myy own issues to deal with. just because i do not bring my personal life issues on here (or elsewhere) does not mean they do not exist. i log on here and other sites to esape from issues that stack up along side me like long rusting stacking things.
some may call me a negative person, and be probably fairly close to the mark in that assement but they would be closer to call me irritated at that moment. had they spent more time asking the right questions rather than leaping to conclusions, they would find that i am not negative and tend to find humor in more than i probably should.
it's been a shitty year so far for more than myself it would appear, what with monks being beaten to death for basically wanting to have their own piece of property and burma being more or less flattened by good old mother nature, then the military junta (isn't that just a cool word for "assholes"?) deciding that they want to be paranoid and not letting food and supplies in. and let's not forget china, who i think pretty much got the swift hand of karma in the form of a 7.9 earthquake for being pretty shitty to kids (poison paint), monks, the dalai lama, and any athelete who needs to breath the air. yeah.. definitely instant karma..
so i do wonder.. what what qualifications do any of you have in passing judgement on people other than rough opinions based on a few words or comments? do you have a PHD in this? i wonder about this because so many are worried about people finding about their IRL lives that how can anyone's opinion be anything more than that? an unfounded opinion?
that is, if i had a question about some medical issue and found that i was talking to a doctor with a couple decades of experience in pathology, i don't need or care to know where they live or work but it sure would help clear things up if i then found I was talking to a fry cook who got their info from wikipedia.
or if i wanted to ask a question about bikes, am i going to ask? someone who works at a shop and has been there for a while, or someone who just started riding? | | | 51 Views | 0 Thumbs Up | 0 Comments
