 | | Monday, October 12, 2009 at 6:15 PM | | IN HONOR OF AMERICANS PREOCUPATION WITH VIOLENT IMAGES AND STORIES HERE IS A CREEPY POEM if you are still reading this by james a. galgano Today follows Like any other Tail between legs With shivering shards of fear Looking over someone else's shoulder As a cold wind sends death a familiar message I am open for business today I wonder if you will see me coming No light in the tunnel For this oncoming train I prefer to quietly follow your every footstep Unnoticed and unexpected My success is in the murky mixture more...Of my elemental surprise There is a calming effect Which your screams and tears bring To my cold and calculating desires I find solace in the fact your loved ones Will one day forget your dismembered face! Torture seems to have that effect on innocence As it is much too busy trying to survive To remember endearing memories Upon these photographs which I now burn As an offering to the vengeful deity I call my own intimate messiah Tomorrow will be a memorable one Unfortunately for you it will be your last For I grow weary of idly creeping Through the minutes of your tedious routine It lacks the aura your smile once emoted The question now is how I will introduce myself to you Prior to terminating your contract With tomorrow's hopes and dreams Nevertheless it will surely happen And if you are reading this Sooner than you think

| Friday, July 31, 2009 at 5:42 PM | | Moral obligation By james a. galgano On the other side of tomorrow Where memories fade into the abyss of eternity Taking with them all the hopes and dreams Of what never was nor will ever be Lies a time never again to be Built upon the sacrifice and sweat of ancestry Now posthumously praised yet so easily forgotten Written off as a misinformed budget breaking expense Thereby forgetting what requires recompense To care for the less fortunate, the infirm, young and elderly Who in fact should be those dearly cared more...for completely If our history of achievement and progress were to make any sense Nevertheless there are many in power who deem this a drain on our economy Seeming to forget it ignores the foundation of our national obligation To form a more perfect union, promote the general welfare, Establish justice and preserve and protect our domestic tranquility Upon these truths we once deemed self-evident into perpetuity Are now not only taken for granted but easily bargained away Upon the tendency to regard the moneyed interests and powers that be More an overriding obligation than making the necessary sacrifice for our posterity To demonstrate and insure that for the historical efforts those before gallantly made Are shown their honor and thanks for these everyday heroics and not feel betrayed As well as encourage our future generations to be as productive in their participation For an equal share for meeting their own expected obligations To forego these ideals to preserve corporate profits and thee elite’s status quo Will lead us down the darkened path for as reap we shall sow the seeds of discontent And the hard earned efforts of all for a better life will be poorly misspent From the trust of all past, present and future from whom our actions now borrow Clearly determining on which side we will be in a not to distant tomorrow
