 | | | Debunking Wicca Debunkers 05:03 1. Dubunk attempt # 1 Most Wiccans, who are knowledgeable recognize the age and the
background of their religion. Gardner's studies have been well more...
documented. Although he claimed to have been initiated into a
centuries old coven, this cannot be proven. What we can prove is that
he collaborated and borrowed heavily from Aleister Crowley and
Helena Blavatsky of Thelema and Theosophy respectively as well as
ancient practices of the Saxons, Germans, Norse, Celts, Greeks and
Romans. Other notable sources would be Robert Graves and Charles
Leland as well as Margaret Murray.
Well as Margaret Murray's research has not stood the lest of time,
Leland, while not perfect in his recantations, has managed to get many
things right. This is why reputable Witchschools such as
Witchschool.com use Leland's writings to this day.
So John Parker's book is called At The Heart of Darkness: Witchcraft,
Black Magic and Satanism Today. Not exactly an unbiased account of
Witchcraft, huh. So let's stick to non biased sources shall we.
2. Debunk Attempt #2 Any Witchcraft that claims to be older than 1950 is highly suspect.
Three words for you. Stregha, Voodoo, and Paupa, New Guinea. Try
pre Christian. All three traditions are virtuially unchanged through time
and can be traced hundreds if not thousands of years. Stregheria, for
example is one of the oldest surviving forms of European Witchcraft
and can be traced prior to the Christian infestation of Italy. The
Etruscan civilization, whose Gods are well documented and bear close
resmeblance to the Roman Gods, is the basis of the Stregheria
religion.

The very idea that there is no Witchcraft tradition that is older than 50
years is absolutely silly in the fact that Leland wrote Aradia or Gospel
of the Witches in 1899. Umm I'm not very good at math, but hey, I think
that adds up to more than 50. But then, hey we're talking about a
Christian that thinks 4.5 billion equals 6000. Not very good at math, or
science for that matter.
3. Debunk attempt #3
Wiccans don't acknoweldge the Devil and or Satan. And we use
deceptive schemes and word games to cover up our involvement with
the devil.
Lucifer=Light Bearer this is simply etymology. Lucifer's presence in
the Bible only happens once, because it was an error, There are
subsequent versions of the Bible that don't mention Lucifer at all and
instead replace Lucifer with the Morning Star, Christians can
understand this. Just to prove my point here's a website from a church
with that very information. http://www.gospelcenterchurch.org/the_bible.html
Jules Michelet Satanism and Witchcraft. Okay, first of all, you are quoting someone
who was a sympathizer with the Catholic Church, secondly, his work
has been largely debunked. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satanism_and_Witchcraft
Mastering Witchcraft, a Practical Guide to Witches, Warlocks and
Covens Paul Huson, making a grave error in the title of his book
obviously doesn't know what he's talking about. Also, I don't see how
this is a Wiccan book.

4. Debunk attempt #4 Upside down pentagrams used as Second Degree Initiations.
The Horned God, is older than the idea of Satan. Christians made
their devil look like the horned one in order to try and convert European
Pagans. When that didn't work, they used force. less Added: Dec 26, 07 Views: 61 Category: Video Blogs |

| | | Principles of Wiccan Belief Part 10 04:10 Our only animosity towards Christianity, or toward any other religion or philosophy of life, is to the extent that its institutions have claimed to be more..."the only way," and have sought to deny freedom to others and to suppress other ways of religious practice and belief. less Added: Jun 1, 07 Views: 37 Category: Video Blogs |
