 Update on my Spirituality...
Wednesday, August 19, 2009 (4:23 PM)
(I'm feeling cheerful)
I've started to read a certain book that I own again, and it has greatly affected my spiritual philosophy. The book is "A New Earth" by Eckhart Tolle, and it is a great book that has helped me be more positive and peaceful. I consider myself to be spiritual but not religious at this point, and at this point my spirituality is much more science based than it used to be. For example, certain people within the field of quantum physics teach that the universe is interconnected, and all that exists is a part of a vast universal energy that is also kind of a universal consciousness. That is the version of the divine that I believe in. There is also the discovery that we create our own reality through the law of attraction; if we are positive, we attract positive situations and people to ourselves, and if we are negative, we attract negative situations and people to ourselves. Lastly, I still believe in ghosts, etc, and I believe that the soul is composed of energy, just as many in the paranormal field believe as well. anyway, that's all for now. peace, -jason.

 New Thought...
Thursday, March 19, 2009 (3:42 AM)
(I'm feeling calm)
For a couple years now I have had an interest in the New Thought movement, and recently, that interest has grown.  New Thought is a spiritual movement that encourages positive thinking, meditation, and believes in the law of attraction.  I've been thinking of incorporating my spiritualistic beliefs in with the new thought beliefs,  and whether I decide to fully call myself a follower New Thought, I already believe much of what it teaches.  I particularly like the teachings of the Unity church, which is a very unique, New Thought approach to christianity.  They have a pantheistic view of God,  meaning that they believe that God is everything that is,  the entire universe.  Anyway,  I just wanted to briefly talk about that.

peace.

-jason.

 my spirituality (update)....
Saturday, December 13, 2008 (5:24 PM)
well, I would like to give an update about my spiritual beliefs.  first of all, I no longer consider myself to be a spiritualist, but rather, I am just spiritual but not religious.  also, over the past few months, I have been going back and forth between belief in God and agnosticism, but the more I think about and learn about nature and science, the more evidence I see for the existence of a Creator.  also, I still believe in ghosts and spirits, and I believe that the spirit world is another dimension.  and finally, I want to wish everyone a happy holiday season.

peace,
-jason.

 Spiritual Poetry...
Thursday, July 24, 2008 (2:52 PM)
(I'm feeling content)
one of my favorite poets (who I discovered fairly recently) is Rumi, a sufi poet who has some great works.

I want to give a quote or two from a book I have:

"if you are irritated by every rub,
how will your mirror be polished?"

"sunlight fell upon a wall;
the wall received a borrowed splendor.
why set your heart on a piece of earth,
o simple one?  seek out the source
which shines forever."

 spirituality update...
Wednesday, June 4, 2008 (2:47 PM)
(I'm feeling happy)
I would like to give an update about my spiritual path:  I believe in an omnipresent, formless God, and I believe in a spirit guides.  I believe that the spirit world and this world are part of the same universe, they just are on different rates of vibration.  I believe that ghosts are not spirits who have never crossed over, but are spirits that are drawn to the earth plane from the spirit world for any number of reasons.  it is also possible that the spirit world intermingles with our world at times, and sometimes they may practically merge temporarily.  anyway, I just wanted to give an update on this channel, where my spiritual udates should be.

peace,
-jason.

 my beliefs as of now...
Tuesday, April 15, 2008 (6:33 PM)
(I'm feeling calm)
well, here is an update on my beliefs:  I believe in an omnipresent, loving God,  but I am undecided currently about what I think about life being a manifestation of spirit.  what I can say is that I am going to try and move closer to the teachings of the national spiritualist association of churches.  spiritualism is a free thinking religion that doesn't tell anyone what to believe, and i am remembering what attracted me to it in the first place.

 spirit..
Monday, March 24, 2008 (3:00 PM)
(I'm feeling calm)

one thing that some spiritualists believe, which I favor, is that all life is a manifestation of spirit;  all life is spirit.  God, the universal spirit, manifests as life, both the physical body and the spiritual body,  and in that sense we are all children of God.

peace,
-jason.

 tao te ching quotes...
Thursday, March 13, 2008 (3:02 PM)
(I'm feeling calm)
here are some quotes from the tao te ching,  the sacred text of taoism.  generally most things in it are symbolic and
metaphorical, and not always straightforward about what they mean.  these ones are fairly straightforward, though still full of metaphors:
(Gia-Fu Feng and Jane English translation):

"...shape clay into a vessel;  it is the space within that makes it useful.."   -ch 11

"who does not trust enough will not be trusted.."  ch 17

"a good walker leaves no tracks"  ch 27

"knowing others is wisdom; knowing the self is enlightenment.."  ch 33

"...the gentle and yielding is the
disciple of life..a tree that is unbending is easily broken..."   -ch76

.."thus an army without flexibility never wins a battle.."  -ch76

 spiritualism...
Tuesday, March 4, 2008 (1:28 PM)
(I'm feeling calm)
as I am sure you know, I am a spiritualist.  here I am going to define spiritualism a briefly in this blog.
first of all, we believe in God, and many of us believe that he is everywhere present and formless, and we all believe that he is a loving God.  we also believe in a spirit world, and according to the nsac teaching, the spirit world is not automatically positive for a spirit, it all depends on how we choose to live, here and hereafter.  we can create either heaven or hell for ourselves by how we choose to live,  "but the doorway to reformation is never closed to any soul...".  we believe in natural laws, which are God's laws, and the degree to which we obey them determines our happiness to an extent.  the spirit world is on a faster vibrational level than this world, and is more perfect, but is still a continuation of life, in which a soul carries with it all the traits that they had in physical life.  we also believe in spirit guides, who correspond to our level of vibration, and the law of attraction essentially determines what spirits are around us.  anyway, that is a brief description of spiritualism.
