 family?
Thursday, August 21, 2008 (8:52 AM)
(I'm feeling pessimistic)
Why is it that in countries other than the U.S., families stick together. I'm talking about when things get tough, family members don't abandon the one who's in trouble. In Europe the elderly or sick family member isn't automatically thrown into a nursing home, or a 'box' as I prefer to call it, to have someone else deal with 'the problem'. I realize that these are generalizations, but from personal experience, not so much. I won't go into more detail, and I know that there are many of you who truly love and take care of elderly and ailing family members to the best of your ability. I also know that not everyone is capable of doing that for a variety of reasons. Sometime I'll tell a story about "friends" who disappear when you really need them.

 George Carlin
Monday, June 23, 2008 (6:28 PM)
(I'm feeling sad)
When I was in college, there was a George Carlin concert. Unfortunately, George didn't show up. Hundreds of us waited in our seats for an hour or so..but no George. They said something about him getting lost on the way to the venue..but it is possible that he got too stoned to do the show. Either way, i never got to see one of the greatest humorists of ours, or any other time. At least we have his specials and films, but it's not the same. I'm sad today.

 Tim Russert's passing
Monday, June 16, 2008 (1:46 AM)
(I'm feeling sad)
I just want to pay my respects to Tim Russert. He passed away suddenly a few days ago at the age of 58. He was the host of Meet The Press, and a very highly respected journalist. I always tried the watch his program when I could. Beyond his work, he just seemed to be a good guy, who helped as many people as he could. I'll miss him, though I never met him.

 Monsters
Saturday, June 7, 2008 (7:23 AM)
(I'm feeling pessimistic)
There's a scene in the movie 'Aliens', (a favorite of mine), where the little girl 'Newt' says to Ripley: "They tell little kids that there's no such thing as monsters, but there are, aren't there?" I have found out there are monsters too, I'm talkin' about the toxic people around us. Try to separate yourself from them and they'll still come looking for you..just like the monsters in the movies.

 5:29am
Monday, June 2, 2008 (2:41 AM)
(I'm feeling blank)
..awake, as usual. Hopping around from room to room. Looking for a friend. Wishing I could turn back the clock. Sun is coming up, birds singing. . Listen to this very carefully, enjoy your life now because everything can turn on a dime in an instant. Take nothing for granted. Goodnight, or good day my friends.

 Computer problems.
Tuesday, May 6, 2008 (10:22 PM)
(I'm feeling aggravated)
In case anyone reads this, my computer is having problems, so I may be offline for awhile. The fan isn't working properly so it's overheating and shutting down. Good thing I have an extended warranty. If I'm offline, that's why. Back as soon as possible.

 Be very very careful !
Tuesday, April 29, 2008 (10:00 PM)
(I'm feeling pissed off)

Last night I made the mistake of clicking on some links that were being posted in a room I hadn't been in
before.  MY BAD  The links were to the most sick and disgusting images you could possibly imagine.  The
individual posting these links must be sick as well.  I'm not just talking about porn..but I will not describe
the images here.  I will NOT make that mistake again.

Tonight I was kicked out of a room because I ACCIDENTALLY USED THE YELLOW FONT.  I meant to
use the green font, but I am somewhat colorblind and mixed them up.  I knew there is a rule in that
rppm about yellow, so why would I use it on purpose?  Anyone that knows me, knows me better
than that.  Thanks buddy !  Btw, I don't blame the person that did the actual booting, she was forced
to do it.

Now I just saw ElMiner's vlog that he is leaving LiveVideo.  This is a tremendous loss.  I'll miss you
my friend.

 A**holes in my building.
Thursday, April 24, 2008 (2:25 AM)
(I'm feeling angry)

Even at my moderately ripe old age, the mind boggles at how many a**holes there are around.  i am specifically referring to the tenants and board members of my condo complex.  Anytime there's a problem in the complex, the board blames the tenants, instead of taking responsibility.  For example, there used to be a rule here that no children were allowed.  A young unmarried woman became pregnant while living here, and the board tried to evict her.  They held a meeting and when she tried to say something, she was told to shut-up.  She sued the board, and not only did she win a lot of money, she won the right to stay, and now they have to allow children to live here.  It turned out their rule was illegal.  Tsk tsk.  Fu*king a**holes.  That's just one example.  They've been harrassing me about some things and making up lies about me, so I am shopping for an attorney now.

Sorry, had to get that off my chest.

 The written word.
Sunday, February 17, 2008 (8:00 AM)
(I'm feeling thoughtful)

Is anyone noticing that a number of LV'ers are writing blogs, and ppl are reading them with interest?  With all the technological power at our fingertips now, the written word still seems to hold a strength unto itself.  I think it has to do with how written words are so basic.  After speech, writing is how we learned to communicate. Videos are exciting, glamorous, and tricky.  Text on paper, (or on screen), is what it is.  Also, it seems there is an urgency to get a video uploaded, (notice all the consternation over the time it takes to upload one), unlike a written blog.  An analogy is the difference between a black and white and a color photograph.  The black and white photograph peels off the layers that distract from the subject.  Just like a written blog.

I'm just sayin..

 Valentine's Day blog
Thursday, February 14, 2008 (11:23 AM)
(I'm feeling nostalgic)

The last time I received a Valentine was about 25 years ago.  I got back to my office and there were roses
taped to my door with a Valentine's card.  I had never received flowers from a woman before, or since.
It really was wonderful being in love..but it didn't last, sadly.  But for a little while, I was the happiest and
luckiest man in the world.  When we kissed, the world disappeared.
