 I did it
Wednesday, July 23, 2008 (12:52 PM)
(I'm feeling excited)
Yesterday, 7/22/08 I did it. I bought the leftover 2007 ZX-6R from the showroom floor of the Kawasaki dealership. First of all the deal went through quickly and easily (almost too easy). The bike is BEAUTIFUL and a mega performance machine. My only concern is the riding position; that it will be too uncomfortable for any ride over 30 minutes. I have some Heli bars on order that should raise the height up about 2 inches. Hopefully, this will make the experience a bit more enjoyable. Also on order are some frame sliders just in case there is a moment where the bike is not rubber side down. Crossing fingers that NEVER happens Anyway, I"m very excited about my new ride and will hopefully have some new videos up soon.

 Today might be the day!!
Tuesday, July 22, 2008 (6:29 AM)
(I'm feeling excited)
I woke up this morning thinking that today might be the day that I just head on over to the Kawasaki dealership and get things started on my new bike. I'm looking at a leftover 2007 ZX-6R. I'm just wondering if I should wait until my current bike is out of the shop so I can make a trade in deal right away, or if I should get the ball rolling now and sell my current bike to them after the deal. Dealerships around here are hurting for used inventory because everything is all sold out. What do you think; feel free to comment. I"m unsuccessful in trying to attach a cool video with this posting:(

 BIKE IS DOWN
Saturday, July 19, 2008 (3:51 PM)
(I'm feeling aggravated)
So, I just got a call from the garage where my bike is sitting, and they told me that I needed a new fuel pump and filter for my bike. The bike has been sitting at the garage for a week for diagnosis, and they finally got back to me today with what they discovered. I like the guys at the shop because I think they are good at what they do, and reasonable too. I am frustrated, however that it is going to take another week for the parts to come in and, hopefully, for them to install. The crazy thing is that the bike was just in the shop having new handlebars installed and some cable work done just prior to this visit. It was in the shop for about 2 days for that work, then I couldn't ride for a week because of weather and company, then I took the bike out for ONE ride and it left me stranded; now minimum of 2 weeks without bike. UGH!! My summer is just flying by and I haven't been able to enjoy any real riding AT ALL!! I"m very frustrated. I just want the bike out of the shop so I can sell it. I'm definitely looking for a later model bike so I can actually enjoy riding more. Thanks for listening!

Get a new bike or not?
Tuesday, July 15, 2008 (4:17 PM)
(I'm feeling contemplative)
OK, after my bike left me stranded on the road the other day, I started thinking that perhaps I need to get a newer bike that has had fewer owners and is more reliable. My bike is in the shop right now being diagnosed and hopefully fixed. I am thinking that I might just sell it and get my money back (I didn't pay a lot for it), then taking that money along with the money I made from the sale of my Drifter to purchase a new bike!! I've never bought a brand new bike, but I am thinking of buying one of 2 remaining '07 Ninja ZX6R's left at the dealership. I spoke with them today and they said they would probably give me more than bluebook on the '02, and they would sell the '07 for $7,700. I would have to pay SOME money for it, but I'm thinking it might be worth it to have a bike that is fresh from the start. I'm happy to hear your input on this matter. Tell me what you think. There is also the chance I can get an '07 off of craigslist for $7,400 from a guy who only has about 800 miles on his bike. Still, I could sell the '02, and use money from the sale of my other bike to pay this one off. The good thing about this is that $7,400 is total "out the door" so to speak. The price from the dealership would be about $1,000 more for tax, title, license, etc. OK, let me know what you think. I kind of want to act fast. Thanks
