(I'm feeling calm) | | Advantages of Non-Host BANN feature.
Here on LV, I have discovered a lot of the advantages of the BANNED feature for non host MODS. If the host is busy with something or needs help moding the room, its good to have a few extra hands in order to help you clean up the mess. When in the live cam room, a lot of things can happen. People of discirminatory groups can attend in the room and talk bad about people of other origins and ethnicities. As a mod it is ones responcibility to BANNED those who do such things. Also, arguments can take place in a room and someone needs to be there in order to help the room host when the argument becomes too much for one person to handle. Non-host moding helps one person build a friendship with the other and creates a good internet community when two or more people get along with each other by doing favors. But what happens when one begins to abuse those powers of moding?.................
Disadvantages of Non-Host BANN feature.
Disadvantages happen a lot more than advantages when it comes to moding responcibilties/privellages. On LV there seems to be a problem with ghost moding as we all may know. People are able to log in a room with their moding feature without being seen on the chat board even when interacting in the chat room. As it has been proven and witnessed, one can BANNED or KICK another user from the room without any evidence of doing it. When this action is performed, it still shows that a user has been kicked but its unware to the other mods, room host, and the users on who BANNED or KICK a certain user from the room. This creates a lot of problems because the BANNED/KICKED user could take the impression that the room host or another MOD is biased or does not like the KICKED/BANNED user, when really the MODS and room HOST had nothing to do with the KICK or BANNED. Also, it has been proven that a room host can become unaware that someone has been kicked from the room if chosen not to check his/her BANNED list. An example that has been witnessed, is when a room host is un-attended from his/her webcam. If the host is not attended to his/her webcam, a MOD can BANNED or kick a user from the room for a particular reason without the room host being aware of what has happend. If MODS or chat users choose not to tell the room host about the performed BANNED/KICKED action then the room host may go on unware on what has happend to a particular user that has participated in the chat very activly. This has created biased thoughts towards the room HOST on behalf of the BANNED/KICKER user.
Things that could be done to stop un-reasonable BANN's
Actions that could be taken on behalf of Live Video.com is giving the room Host the ability to grant mods with privellages rather than letting them take the full power of BANNING and KICKING. So if a host feels that one mod may be responcible and diciplines than another mod then a certain mod if not just one could be granted the power to BANNED one from the room. Thereofore if a user is kicked from the room they can still message the user and tell them that they were kicked or a MOD is kicking them for a biased reason and then the HOST can remove that mod from their ability. Another thing LV needs to do and look further into the depths of the login/exit chat room button and prevent people from ghosting in the room. This way users dont get BANNED without the mods and the room host knowing who is banning or kicking.
CONCLUSION
I believe that if these actions are taken into effect it will make LV a more fun live chat/webcam site for people.
