 Beckham boohoohoo!
Monday, July 30, 2007 (12:20 PM)
(I'm feeling blah)
How many of you soccer fans saw Beckham's debut with the LA Galaxy? I know I did. I feel retarded for having anticipated that game. Before the game even started, there was a special programming about Beckham's journey to America. It was boring; Only him talking about moving here and leaving Europe.  As if its really hard for him. He'll be leaving at a mansion in Beverly Hills. Is that bad? He got a huge paycheck for signing with the galaxy. He has like a million advertisements out already.

Anyways, when the game started, Beckham was on the bench. He stayed on the bench for at least 90% of the entire game. That bench was pathetic. I'm not taking about the benchwarmer like Beckham but the actual bench! In most soccer venues in the world, the teams have like a dugout for the players. Its was retarded that they only had a metal long bench. It just bothered me.

All the stars at the stadium that day made it seem like it was some sort of red carpet event. I was shocked when I saw Kevin Garnett up in the stands. What was that??? He likes soccer???  I would have never guessed it.

The only time the people in the stadium seemed excited was when Beckham started warming up. When he checked in to the field, there was only like 8 minutes left on the clock. He got tackled by one of the opposing players. I think that was the highlight of the game for me. It was hilarious. He just flew in the air. Hilarious!!! Anyways, the game ended as he kicked a corner kick. Nothing special, it didn't even seem like a good kick anyways.

Anyways, the hype over David Beckham is just plain ridiculous. He hasn't played since that day.  I just wonder how his five years with the Galaxy will go.

Yeah, so,David not so great after all!

 Doggy Troubles!!!
Monday, July 30, 2007 (11:43 AM)
(I'm feeling annoyed)
Ok, so, I haven't been on for a while. Now I have a new problem with my doggy. We recently moved places. In my old home, we weren't allowed to have a pet, but we still did. Like a couple of weeks ago, we moved to a more spacious apartment. My doggy seems to act more freaky now. He won't do his business in his litter box anymore; he would wait until someone takes him outside. Also, since we moved, he lost some weight. I think he was stressed out. Another factor thats been bothering him is that now we live on the second floor of a building. He has to climb stairs and go through a hallway. Before, in the old place, he would just step out of the door and he'd be in the sidewalk. Also, I think being on the second floor his oxygen availability is altered. So, I feel sorry for him. Anyways, other people in the building complained about him barking too much. He's a chihuahua; its in his nature to bark. Plus, I think they exaggerate. He doesn't bark as much. He only barks when he sees another dog or is frightened. So, he's barked at some of my neighbors. He only barks at certain people which is kinda weird. Anyways, back to my current problem. My sister and her friend were going to take Toby for a walk. On their way down, the dog, Toby, got loose and ran forward. At that same time, out of nowhere, this lady comes out. Naturally, the dog freaks a little. So, he turns back and goes towards the lady. He barks at her and kinda leans on her. Before I go on, let me describe this lady. She has a few extra pounds; she's around her 50's/60's. I think she's from the Middle East (I'm not trying to be biased or anything). She wears like two layers of long clothing. On the day of the incident, she had like a long baggy skirt or short, I can't tell. Well, she claims that the dog jumped on her and was injured. How in the world was the dog able to scratch her???? When my sister got ahold of the dog, he wasn't hooked on her clothes or anything. If my dog had scratched her, her clothes would've been ripped. My dog's nails aren't even that sharp to penetrate on her. His nails are squared and very well filed. I take him out a lot on runs, so his nails are kept dull by being filed on the concrete pavement.  So, when my sister said sorry to her for the dog's behaviour, she only looked at my sister with a "get outa here" look. That's how the incident ended in the evening. Throughout the evening, I would see her walking back and fort in the courtyard normally. If a dog hurt you, would you be walking up and down with that leg???? How silly is that?  Anyways, the following day around noon, she and her daughter came up to my apartment. She claimed that my dog attacked her. How extreme is that word "attack"????  Anyways, they claim that they went to the doctor and the doctor wants a copy of my dogs immunizations. We asked her to show us her injuries. Obviously, she refused. A couple of hours later, my mom went to their apartment with a photo camera and a video camera handy and asked her is she can take pictures of her supposed scratches. She refused once more.

We sought advice from different parties regarding our situation. All of our sources said that we shouldn't give her or show her anything because they didn't want to show us their wounds. We asked advice for my sister's friend (our witness), the vet, and our lawyer. So, now I want your feedback: the livevideo community!

I wish all this would disappear! Its just retarded!

 Things I've Done This Week
Friday, July 13, 2007 (11:54 AM)
(I'm feeling Today's a Good Day)
This was a good week for me. I did lots of constructive stuff. Of the many things I did this week, I created two livevideo groups. They are Tennis Fanatics group and The World Soccer & MLS Group. By the type of groups I created, you can already infer that I love sports. Like I've mentioned on my profile description, I'm an all around athlete. In my blogs, I haven't said much of myself; I've bee more critical on the events happening. Well, here's a tid bit on who labze89 is. I love sports. I played three varsity sports in high school (it could've easily been five!). I played Varsity soccer, tennis and volleyball. I could have definitely made the cut for Varsity Softball but I missed the deadline and plus the team didn't seem very organized. Most of the time you could see them slacking off in practice and eating junk food and getting fat. My grandmother on my dad's side was the pitcher for the National Softball Team in Belize. All my aunts played softball too, so I would've most definitely done just great playing softball. But, I didn't join the team in high school. Its was there loss. Another sport I'm considerably good at is basketball. In my 10th grade year in high school, my PE teacher (also the Girls Basketball Coach) tried to persuade me to join his team. I don't really like playing basketball. I like watching it though. I just think its too much of a physical sport. There's way too much contact in it for me. So, what I did when he ask me to have a tryout date with him, I purposely missed the baskets. Heheheehe, he bought it. Another sport I wish to try in the future is Golf. For some weird reason my soccer coach recommended that I join a Golf club/team. Some of my readers might think I sound conceited but its not true. I'm just trying to give you a better understanding of who labze89 is. Like I've said several times, I like sports.

Now moving on to another interest of mine. I like reading the classics. I'm very strict to keeping a reading schedule. I have a long reading list that I hope to finish one day. This year alone, I've read books like The Awakening, Night, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, Benjamin Franklin The Autobiography, The Sound and The Fury, and much more. The latest book I've finished was Sons and Lovers by DH Lawrence. This book I liked because its had quite a few parallels to my life (really weird?#$). Keep in mind, that my readings are a passtime. I have a pic of my little brother already having an interest in reading. Its a funny pic. I'll post it on my profile so keep a look out for it. He's holding a Sons and Lovers book and he seems so concentrated in the book. By the way, he's only 6 months old. I read to him and he likes it. You would think that black and white text is boring to little ones at age 6 months, but no, he loves it. Like I always say to myself, its never too early to instill proper habits into children. Now, I sound all philosophical. Anways, back to the topic of Classic Books, I'm gonna start a Classics Group; anyone interested in joining such a group look for it now and become a member!

So, now I realize I didn't right much about what I did this past week. Well, the coolest thing I did was create two groups. My next endeavor will be starting a Book Club!

 Football/Soccer News
Wednesday, July 11, 2007 (2:29 PM)
(I'm feeling .........)
The Gold Cup has been over since like a couple of weeks. Still, let's dwell on this topic for a bit. The US won!!!!  Let's see, oh yeah, the US won!  Ok, so we all know the US won. How about the final match against Mexico? What a great game! I sat at the edge of my seat throughout the game. It was such a close match with the scoreboard at the end being 2-1 in favor of the US. May the rivalry between the US and Mexico live on! Mexico hasn't been able to beat the US in US since a couple years back. Also, the US broke Mexico's streak of never being beaten by the US in a Gold Cup Final. Go US!  So, the Gold Cup was exciting. My favorite team won. I'm happy with the results. Yeah! :)

So, now moving on to a new chapter of soccer this year. Copa America started a couple of weeks ago. This tournament is more exciting because more of the bigger teams in the world compete. Brazil and Argentina are superb; they're my all time favorite teams. Its hard for me to choose one. A disappointment in the tournament is the formation of the Brazilian team. I wanted to see more of the Brazilian stars play. I was looking forward to seeing Kaka, Ronaldhino, Roberto Carlos, Emerson, Dida, Ronaldo, and Adriano play. None of which are playing. The only big star is Robinho. He's ok, but where's Kaka?

The Argentina team does have all there stars like Riquelme, Messi, and Tevez. In my opinion the Argentinians will win this tournament.

But wait, I forgot someone. The Mexican team here at Venezuela isn't as bright as the one that played at the Gold Cup Tournament.  Both Pavel Pardo and Jared Borgetti are absent. I think that today July 11, Argentina will beat Mexico by a score of 3-1 (thats because I'm feeling generous today). Go Blue!

Now, back to some previous matches at the Copa America. This tournament has surely not been short of goals. Some soccer fans are too impressed by a high scoring soccer match. My dad says that match with more than 4 goals is no match at all. Personally, I disagree with his view. For me, the more goals in a match, the more entertaining and fun it is.  In the quarterfinals alone, there was a total of 22 goals! Thats just awesome.

 Wimbledon Results
Wednesday, July 11, 2007 (12:05 PM)
(I'm feeling Whatever)
Ok so. The results for the Wimbledon Men's Single was no shock to all. Of course, Fed won. He's only won like, what the last 5 Wimbledon Tournaments? But of course, my favorite player is still Rafa Nadal. He's gaining up to Fed. The final match at wimbledon this past week was a 5 setter. It was a nail biter. By the fifth set, it was anyones game. Still, I don't know what got into Nadal. He just slacked off. Of course, it was a disappointment at the end to me (many may disagree).  I just think that its time for someone to dethrone Federer. In my opinion, he's becoming too pompous. I want to see more people like Canas and Baghdatis defeating him. Both Canas and Baghdatis are really unknown players in the tennis world, yet they are able to beat the number 1 player in the world. How is that?  Roddick and Davydenko aren't even able to accomplish that.  Before I go blabbing off on a rampage on how much I wish Federer dethroned, I go back to my Wimbledon analysis. So, the seeds faired ok. Roddick is another disappointed to the US. I see him a lot on TV. Too bad its not playing matches. Most of the time I see him on my television set, is on those stupid Lacoste commercials. He should be concentrating more on his tennis game. Maybe like Sharapova? Maria is on those "Every Shot is a Power Shot" Commercials. By now that catch phrase is annoying, but, her game is still good. She's ranked like what number 2 in the world? I know Roddick is 4 but still everytime he plays in a tournament, he's being ousted by a nobody player. Maybe, more practice time instead of photo shoots will give him a chance on beating Fed.

So, the guys results at Wimbledon was pretty much as one expected. On the women's side it was more interesting. Who would've thought that Venus would win? I've always like the Williams sister. I was super excited when I found out that they were gonna be playing doubles at Wimbledon. The disappointment was when they dropped out because Serena had an injury. Another surprise on the women's side at Wimbledon was Justine Henin losing at the Semis against I can't even remember who. I was like "what?#@#$"  I always thought of Justine as one of the most consistent players on the women's side. I guess her losing on the semis gave Venus the title. Venus' final match was a no brainer. She won easily. Seriously, I can't remember who the opponent was. Anyways, Venus won so I'm happy.

The Bryan Brothers lost. Hmmm, I think there cool. Twins playing doubles, thats just perfect. But, they lost.....

So, the UK has something to celebrate. One of theirs won the mixed doubles title. Thats just sort of pathetic. It made headlines in the tennis world. The title is technically only half the UK's. The title belongs to Jamie Murray, the Brit, and Jelena Jankovic from Serbia. Its just not cool. They should really celebrate if someone from the UK wins the Singles Title. Now, that'll be something that deserves celebration. Andy Murray from the UK, I just don't like that guy. He's RUDE!!!! I think he should be named "Most Unsportsmanship." Ever game of his is disagreeable to watch. I think the UK should start coming up with more brilliant tennis players. I would love to see a young upcoming Brit on the Tennis Tour.

So for now, thats all on my rant about Wimbledon.
