| | Yes Man | | | Monday, December 22, 2008 (9:47 PM) (I'm feeling satisfied) | | Yes Man
I watched the movie Yes Man tonight and it was a good watch. Jim Carrey did a great job as usual bringing his style of comedy to an off the wall concept. Now rather than talk more about the movie I just want to take a moment implant a thought in your brain. The movie was about basically all the opportunities that we let pass by in life because all to often the word "no" is implanted into our brains. Too many times we fall victim to the expression "I don't have time for that" or "I have better things to do", well there is one thing that I have learned in life so far and that is there is always time. ALWAYS TIME! That may be subject to debate BUT think about it we can all sacrifice something to gain time. It could be 1 hour less of sleep, it could be getting up an hour earlier, or something as simple as a shorter shower. Now here is what I want you to think about, how many small opportunities do we pass up everyday that can effect the people around us? Simple gestures like saying hello, good bye, I love you, or ever flashing a smile. I know I am gonna try to say yes to these mini opportunities and make a difference in peoples lives. Well that is all for now, thanks for reading! :)

| | Music: Effects on Emotion | | | Monday, December 22, 2008 (9:32 PM) (I'm feeling contemplative) | | M U S I C
You know the thing I have always enjoyed about music is it can allow you to escape the current mindset that we are in and allow us to temporarily forget our lives. I am very cultured and I enjoy all kinds of music. Growing up I used to make cds called "mood music". Some of my friends thought it was weird I had them labeled "country mood", "angry mood", and "rock mood". I had others but you get the idea. Some may not realize it but music can instantly change our moods. For example if your really stressing out about something in life try listening to some "oldies but goodies". If anything you may get a laugh out of the fact they were singing about hoola hoops or taking a bath. I realize that music will not make you forget all your problems, I am just sayin put on some music and just open your mind. When I am angry sometimes I listen to classical. I do have one major tip though... If you are in a bad mood and if you are angry/upset over being dumped or cheated on then please do not listen to music envolving break up and cheating. That defeats the purpose of letting music help heal your wounds. A friend introduced me to a site called http://www.playlist.com. Give it a try, you can add the player to live video or myspace or whatever. SomethingĀ I recommend that can be fun is make a playlist and share it with a friend, trade playlists, you never know what songs you may rediscover. Who knows you may even discover new music to enjoy.<br//> | | | 152 Views | 0 Thumbs Up | 0 Comments | |

| | Sometimes life is boring... | | | Monday, December 22, 2008 (9:29 PM) (I'm feeling bored) | | Sometimes life is boring...
So it's 4:14am here and I lie awake thinking (which is dangerous). I am not going to sit here and act like I have any more problems than anyone else, so I will spare you the details of my current "problems". However I will share with you some thoughts that are running through my mind as of late. I am currently bored and disappointed with the way my life is going right now. I will be turning 27 this month and I can't help but feel that by now I should have been good at something in my life by now. I should have finished college and should have a career by now. Instead I have an unstable job, a loving fiance, and 4 wonderful children. Don't get me wrong I love my family and would do anything for them. It's just I suck at being a companion and I really don't think of myself as a good father figure. Now let me stop here and reassure everyone that I am not fishing for attention. I do not need attention, personally I figure no one will read this which is ok by me. Just trying to get some thoughts off my chest. ANYWAYS as I was saying... I feel like my time to be someone or something in life has come and gone. I have a lot of hobbies and would love to really do something to leave my mark in the world. Just not sure what to do. I know I need to get off my butt and start exercising more and "get back" into shape. Boredom sucks and being laid off for the past 4 months has not helped any. Well I will wrap this up now, thanks for reading and if anyone has any ideas on ways to beat boredom in life leave a comment.
