(I'm feeling geeky) | | So I kinda drifted away from LV but I popped in once in awhile. One such time I discovered it was all different. A little confusing I have to say but I've spent this morning trying to learn all about it. I did look around before this too but not as closely as today.
I joined a group...haven't looked much into that yet. I then went to update my profile and I don't remember if the About Me part was always there or not but I figured I'd fill that in. So I started typing and the following is what I came up with. I think it's probably too long...I dunno for sure. But I figured I'd just make it a blog instead.
About Me
I'm an amateur photographer...that's my main thing. I've always been into video and I love that almost as much but my true love is still photography. I've experimented with some video editing but much of it is just as it came off the camera. I haven't been doing video so much lately though. Some of them are actually just slideshows of my photos anyway.
Since I love nature, and scenery, and since the birds and animals and other critters, and rivers and mountains and oceans, etc., don't complain when I put them on the internet, that tends to be what I specialize in.
I was never much into people photography until recent months when I discovered it's an entirely different ball game when the people actually WANT you to photograph them and you don't have to wonder if they mind or watch them duck and cover. lol. I tend to be a duck and cover person myself so I can relate.
I want to get back into video making too but I haven't had much time for that lately. I'd love to do some more creative stuff than I normally do. Some of the creations you see on LiveVideo and on "the other site" are just amazing. There are so many talented individuals here. This is why I've had such an interest (but so far, non participation) in the Collective Soul channel.
I never got into vlogging...have thought of it at times but no. It's not for me, at least not right now. Some of my favorite people on here are vloggers though and they're very talented and creative as well, so I'm not putting that kind of thing down in the least. There are also a few, however, that helped cause my gradual drifting away from LiveVideo. I won't get into details about that but I'll say the drama was (and still is in some cases) getting old. BUt I say they "helped" because I've really been busy with other things.
I'm looking into a new camera...time to step up and I want a digital SLR, probably a Canon Digital Rebel. They don't do video though, so my digital cams and my Sony HandyCam Digital 8 will have to do that job. Besides...that's not a pocket camera so I'll still always have a small digital in my pocket as I almost always do now. My phone also takes pretty decent photos, at least compared to my old one.
I dug out my old 35mm SLRs and have thought about getting them back into action. But I don't know. I originally dug them out to consider selling them but they brought back memories. So I haven't decided what to do there. I also have a small 35mm that I want to find and start using. If I have that maybe I should just let the others go. Digital is here to stay and it's improving dramatically, but there are times when it's good, perhaps necessary, to have a negative.
Well, I guess that is all for now. As I said above, this was originally going to be my "About Me" so I guess that's what I'll title this blog.
