| | Hope and Love in the New Year | | | Tuesday, January 13, 2009 (5:05 AM) (I'm feeling cheerful) | | Maybe it’s the New Year that makes us want stories of hope and love?
The video for this book caught my eye and it seemed like a good old fashioned romance to me so I went to the author’s site and checked it out and I now have it on order.
It reminds me a little bit of Sleeping with the Enemy, but the romance seems much deeper. And of course you know I’m a sucker for a good looking cowboy. Lol
Here’s the author’s site. You can even read the first chapter there – http://www.catherineanderson.com
Anyhow, the heroine escapes from her abusive husband while she’s on a cruise ship. She moves and, while looking for a job, finds this handsome cowboy to work for and they have an incredible chemistry. Then the husband finds out she’s still alive and decides to go after her. I just hope she kicks his butt. Or that the cowboy knocks him out or something. I love those kind of endings. Lol | | | 43 Views | 0 Thumbs Up | 0 Comments

| | The Fidelity Files - Would your lover cheat? | | | Wednesday, October 15, 2008 (3:04 AM) (I'm feeling curious) | | Would the person you love cheat on you? Would you bet on it?
The Fidelity Files looks at that in a very real and personal way. It's a story about a woman who owns a company that checks on cheaters. It not only looks at the cheaters, but at the people who follow them, contact them, try to get them to cheat.
If you saw that much cheating going on would it be hard for you to trust in a relationship? How would it affect you personally? And knowing that relationships ended with the report you gave, would that affect you?

| | The Passion Inside | | | Saturday, October 4, 2008 (5:38 PM) (I'm feeling hopeful) | | What is it that we all share here? Here on LiveVideo? I see you. Your avatar, your videos or blogs, your shows and your pictures, your comments and your ideas. You're not just another "friend" request. You're not just another person that I send MY information to. You matter to me.
I've always cared about people. I like to see happy endings. I like to see random acts of kindness. I like to see poetry that is love and friendship and a connection to someone that is on such an intimate level that you have no name for it.
I understand passion. Mine. Yours. Theirs. Ours. By being here, reading this, you are connecting with someone that lives far from you, or perhaps I'm near you? You and me, right now, as you read these words, are connected. And I want to say to you that you matter. You are worthy. You are important. Not because I say so. But, because it is so.
I have watched several vlogs. Shows that were made by someone I've never met, yet I was entertained, touched, angered, thrilled, happy...engaged. I've listened to your voice, your words, your music your passion. And it has made me crave more. To learn of people I have never met. To find out things I would never have known. Other people. Other places. Other things.
I see a common thread. Not just that we are here on a social network. Not just that we are creating a place for ourselves and reaching out to others. Our common thread is our passion. A passion to share; ourselves, our ideas our desires.
My passion is simple; reading, writing, literacy. I love making these little book videos. I have kids and adults email me to say that they had forgotten how fun books and stories can be. That my little works of art and entertainment touched them in a way that made them want to reach out to me. Engage with me.
I want people remember that reading is fun. We loved it as children. Some of us live it still. Books engage your imagination. They work at it. You work at it. And in the end you experience that story within you. It is a moment that no one can ever take from you.
In the end I love encouraging young people to read. I volunteer and donate my time to literacy organizations. It breaks my heart when I see teenagers who have hard lives, no jobs, no school and cannot read. I wonder what thier lives will be like...their future? And I care.
So if I send you my little book trailers to look at it's not because I need something from you. It's because I want to connect with you through my art. I want share a part of me. A part of something I helped to create.
My company is a little family-owned, friend-operated piece of my heart. I hope you will find something that calls to you. That interests YOU. That engages you. In the end that's what all artists want. It is our passion. The passion we all have inside of us.

| | Do's and Don't's of Social Interaction | | | | Sunday, July 6, 2008 (1:02 AM) | | Many top companies have failed at social media. They have the wrong idea of how to interact with people. They see millions of people out there and they want to reach out to them, but they lose site of the ever-changing landscape of social media and the rules that continue to evolve in that medium.
There are hundreds of social media sites that you can have a presence on. Each of those sites have a different group of people with different expectations. Study the site. Know what opportunities are there. See how people are communicating with each other. Look, first, to learn the accepted way businesses are communicating with individuals. Some sites will work for direct sales. Some will work best for branding. Know the difference.
Do's and Don'ts
Do
Do have someone be personable on your profile.
Do know your community.
Do interact when you have nothing to sell.
Do blog about things readers will find interesting.
Do join groups with interests that match yours.
Do have an interesting profile with pictures and items of interest that match your target audience.
Do have a positive and supportive attitude about your community and let that show.
Do monitor comments and approve them before they go out.
Don't
Don’t act like a business on a social profile.
Don’t be something you’re not. People will ferret you out if you pretend to be a person recommending books and you’re really the publisher of the books. Let them know you’re the publisher. Transparency = trust.
Don’t SPAM!!!! It doesn’t matter what you think is SPAM. It matters what the community thinks is SPAM.
Don’t bog down your profile with so much material that it takes forever for it to load.
Don’t be insensitive to the social media site you’re on. If you’re on MySpace, don’t put up YouTube videos if you can help it. Do you think MySpace will feature your profile if you’re advertising for YouTube?
Don’t be a friend whore. Don’t do “whore trains”. Whore trains are like online chain letters that gain friend additions instead of dealing in money. You won’t get your target audience. It will pollute your bulletins. You usually get undesirable people on your friend list.
Don’t add people under 18 if you are selling adult material.
More and more companies are utilizing social media sites as out reach programs. By following some simple rules that can be accomplished without compromising relationships with potential customers. | | | 94 Views | 0 Thumbs Up | 0 Comments
