| | My First Audition! | | | Sunday, March 9, 2008 (10:29 PM) (I'm feeling excited) | | Friday and Saturday, I've gone with my school to a festival at a local college for high school students. The first day, they told us about open auditions they were holding for Les Miserables, a special performance by students.
I wanted to try out (and my friends all badgered me into it) so I decided to try out. I sought out my Avenue Q sheet music (intending to sing There's A Fine Fine Line).
The next day, I was so nervous at the festival! I practiced my song a lot. My friend helped me so much.
One girl went, who blanked out. You also couldn't hear her. The director told her thank you and good by. Then a guy, who was really awesome. I don't remember if I went now, or if there were more people, but I'm going to skip ahead.
Then I was supposed to go. But, I was so nervous, I kinda blanked out. The director was nice, and since I said it was my first audition, he let me sit down and said I could try again later.
A couple more people went. There was this one girl who tried to sing Think of Me, but she did NOT have the range for it, and she kinda sucked majorly. All the guys that went up were fantastic.
Then, it was my turn to try again. When I got to my long note, I thought I screwed it up, but I held it anyway. Then I kinda blanked out again, but the director told me to keep going, and that he wanted me to finish. My ending was shaky, but I got through, and everyone applauded really loudly.
My friends all told me that I did really well. Stephanie said that I nailed my long note, which had been giving me trouble earlier. She said I hit it head on, and I held it. She also thinks that's what made the director tell me to go on. She said that I was the first girl to hold a long note successfully.
And she wasn't just flattering me, because she's really blunt, and doesn't care if she hurts people's feelings. She also said it might have been my sense of humor that made him give me a second chance.
When I went up again, I said "Hi, I'm ---------, again. I'm still singing the same song. Hopefully better, this time."
I was so happy when it dawned on me (a few hours later) that I did really well. 'Cause the first girl who went was quiet (Stephanie told me I was pretty loud) and she blanked out a lot, but the director told her to go. He didn't give her a second chance. The other girl picked a song from Aida, and she didn't do that well, only okay. The Think of Me girl, I already told you that she did not have the range for that song.
We didn't stay to see the rest of the competition, but I think I just might have made call backs. I hope I did.

| | Ooh, forgot! WARFARIN! | | | Sunday, February 10, 2008 (9:04 AM) (I'm feeling chipper) | | Hey, I'm starting my own TV show with the new LiveTV feature.
I'm starting it with Muffin (for those of you familiar with the Pastries) and another friend. Our stage names are Countess Doughnut von Doom (me!), Princess Muffinmort (Muffin, of course!) and Marquesse Gale de Zero! (the new friend).
For those of you familiar with the Pastries wondering where Cupcake is, well, she is a terrible jerk that Muffin and I both hated for a long time, but didn't tell each other. But now we've told each other that we hate her, and she is no longer our friend, nor a Pastry. Neither of us actually wanted her to become a Pastry anyway, so she's gone.
Our show is called WARFARIN, which is a fancy word for a colorless, crystalline, water-insoluble anticoagulant, C19H16O4, used chiefly as a rodenticide. So our show is a fancy name for rat poison! Pretty sweet, huh?
Anyway, we're going to start filming as soon as we can get a camera... | | | 104 Views | 0 Thumbs Up | 0 Comments | |
