I haven't been on LV as much as I used to be... (Phoenix)
Saturday, April 18, 2009 (4:38 AM)
I haven't been on LV as much as I used to be... and during my visit this morning, I reviewed my blog posts...
One of which referred to Phoenix and his respiratory problems, which were very serious.

I neglected to update via blog on his condition, as I was extremely upset and could barely function following his death.  He passed away on June 3rd, 2008, of what seemed to be a seizure of some sort, while continuing to have difficulty breathing.  I attempted to revive him but he departed very quickly... I was devastated so much so, that I was unable to eat for 10 days or more and could barely be awake without crying, knowing he was not there.  It's strange how pets can become such cherished members of our family... As I re-read my blog from over a year ago, about the last vet visit, I still cried.  I miss him terribly, but hope to see him in the next life. (Heaven)

Thank you to all of you who prayed for him, and those who commented on my blog from February 2008, and I apologize for not posting something before now.  I was simply too upset to write anything and it escaped my attention that I should have posted an official follow-up.

Blessings to you all... Angel =]

You know you have a problem when you blow off plans with your real-life friends because you were chatting on LV until 5:30am and can't muster the strength to go out because you're too tired!  (Thanks JD! ... I owe you one!) ... LOL!

Yep, gonna check myself into LV rehab pretty soon!  (Jessica, Jen, Lana, Suze, Newt, ... and everyone else... R U Tagging along?) We could all camp out together!  HA!

Love Ya All!  See you soon!

PS:  my 'mood' would have been SUPER DORKY if it were an option  (cheezy angel grin)  :)

Phoenix... Visit to Vet due to illness
Tuesday, February 12, 2008 (3:47 PM)
Phoenix and I spent the day at the veterinarian (again) today... a terribly frightening experience! ... He's been having difficulty breathing for over 2 weeks and has made a little progress on meds.  (Four different prescriptions... my head is swimming trying to keep track of it all!)

Anyway... Two weeks ago he had a radiograph (x-ray) and they couldn't see anything to identify the respiratory problem.   His Doc put him on antibiotics, anitfungal, anti whoknowswhat... but recovery has not occurred yet.   Today, he had a CT scan... for which he had to be under anethesia (anyone with small animals, who have ever had medical issues, know the serious risk involved with this) ...  I had to sign a release for the vet to administer the anesthesia... acknowleging the possibility of anesthetic death and other horrible things (a tube to be inserted through his side, in case he was having difficulty breathing) ...  The veterinarian was not hopeful about his situation.  She indicated that, depending on the results of the CT scan, she may recommend euthenasia.   I couldn't stop crying.  I think the folks in the "waiting area" may have been uncomfortable, but I just couldn't help it.

The CT scan showed no tumors or any other identifiable major respiratory problems, and his prognosis is good.... After 3 hours of crying and trying to hide it, I was thankful to hear the results were not devastating.  They still don't know what is going on, but the vet is far more hopeful for his recovery, now that we know it is not a major trachial (I don't know how to spell that) infection blocking his air passages.    *Sigh*

Anyway... I haven't told many of my Friends on LV about this situation because I've been so upset.   ... This is just an update....  If you feel led, please keep Phoenix in your thoughts and prayers.  This first appeared to be a relapse of what occurred in the beginning of November, but this time he did not improve with the medication.

I shall not give up hope.  He's one of my cutie-pie kids...

Love to all of you... Thanks for reading my long-winded message...  Angel hugs & Birdie Kisses!
