| | Pontoon purchase | | | | Monday, April 7, 2008 (1:33 AM) | | Finally after 6+weeks I purchased the 24' Harris pontoon this Saturday. Going to schedule today for it to be picked up by a marina and moved to a farm location close to where I work so I can do some repairs on it before launching it.
All updates will be posted on my website at: www.riverlizard.com
Can't wait to take her out and do some all night catfishin'. Videos trips will be posted on a regular basis when I get her in the water and setup for the camera. | | | 47 Views | 0 Thumbs Up | 0 Comments

| | update on things | | | Saturday, March 8, 2008 (7:48 PM) (I'm feeling happy) | | Just wanted to give an update on what's going on.........
I haven't been fishing for a week due to working on getting a pontoon boat purchased and visiting a number of marinas to find a boat slip to store it at. I've found a pontoon boat that's 24 ft. long and within my price range (cheap) and I'm trying to close the deal on it this week so I can get it and start setting it up for fishing on the James River.
I'm planning on keeping my other fishing boat so I can use it on other lakes and rivers when I'm not fishin' the James River.
It's been really busy at work, so between marina searching, work and a few things at home, I've been really busy this last week.
When/IF I get the pontoon I'll post up photos of it before I start working on it and after it's finished (well, finished enough to start fishing from it......it will never be completely finished since I'll probably add things to it as I'm fishing on it).
What I'm hoping to be able to do with it is to stay on it from Friday night to Sunday afternoon come late Spring. I plan on putting a propane gas grill on it, a small cabin, a generator and maybe a college size refrig. (to keep some drinks and food in while I'm out on the river). Once I get it setup, I'll be wiring my video camera and start making videos on my weekends on the river. Down the road I am even look at getting a satellite dish so I can upload direct from the boat, but for now I just want to get it and start getting it ready for Spring.
Going to the dog park in the morning to work with Banks on his agility training. He didn't do so good last week at class so I need to start practicing more with him.
Anyway, I hope everyone is having a great weekend and I'll keep you posted on my progress with the pontoon. | | | 37 Views | 0 Thumbs Up | 0 Comments

| | Banks passed his Level 1 agility class | | | Thursday, February 21, 2008 (5:47 PM) (I'm feeling accomplished) | | Last night I took my Aussie "Banks" to agility class, which we've been going twice a week for less than a month and passed the level 1 test. Banks will be starting level 2 next week. For those who don't know what dog agility is here's a link: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dog_agility I'm hoping to be able to take him to an agility event next year once he's to level 5 on his training. He's really smart and picks up stuff pretty quick.
To pass his level 1 test he had to jump a series of hurtles, do the tunnel, the tire and laydown on the table and hold for 5 seconds, which he did first time out.
Once he gets fully focused on doing the course I'll try to setup my video camera and get some filming of him running the course and then post up the clip.
