(I'm feeling excited) | | WOO HOO! I am mobile!
I bought my first car on sunday (feb 17th). I am uber excited right now. It's a brand new black scion xD.
I figured it was time to get a car and sadly...time to sell Paulo. I've had Paulo for 2 years now and he's been great, but living in LA and driving a scooter is a problem.
1. Too many cars
2. People in LA drive really fast
3. I can't take Paulo on the freeway...and LA is all about freeways
4. I can't carry anything or anyone with me on Paulo (well, one small person, and a backpack full of groceries).
So I've had my new car for a few days now. I drove him to work on tuesday, so I could show him off to a few of my friends. But since then I have been taking the bus. It costs $8 a day to park at work and only $0.50 for the round trip bus fare...or I can walk. I live close enough to work that I could walk there in about 45 minutes. I dind't buy the car so I could be lazy and drive it down the street. I mainly bought it so that I could get on the freeways and carry things and people around when I have to.
AHHHH...I'm excited. But the payments scare me. hopefully I can keep up with them. Insurance is a bit high since I need full coverage and I haven't had a driver's licence for very long (only about 3 years).
Anyhow, that's what's going on over here with me. I am desparately trying to find ways to make extra money now. Maybe I really should start doing fetish videos...hmmm...lol. I could scratch up my sunglasses for some $$$...or blow up balloons. lmao | | | 228 Views | 6  Thumbs Up | 4 Comments |  |

Don'te get me wrong. The thought behind a gift will always be much apreciated. I will always appreciate the gifting process...but what the fuck is up with these cheesy gifts on livevideo?
Who has facebook? Facebook has gifts...cute gifts. They are designed well. They are simple, clean, and all around cute. Even their free gifts application has "cute" gifts.
Then there is livevideos' gifts. What are they thinking? Do they have to be that cheesy looking? Just because something has cheaply animated graphics on it, doesn't make it better. Maybe I'm just a snob when it comes to aesthetics....but my god! Come on LiveVideo! What are you doing?!?!
LiveUniverse has another video sharing site that we all know and love; Vidilife.com. Wait, did I say all "know and love"? I meant to say "that no one has heard of and is kind of shitty." If anyone visits that site, you'll notice something about their gifts. They are the EXACT same ugly, cheesy gifts that LiveUniverse has implemented here.
I'm just being a total bitch about this new site. I don't always like change...so I'll probably be bitching for a while about all of this.
I apologize.
One of the reasons I liked the site when I first joined was that it was nice to look at. I liked the design of the buttons, the icons, the layout. So it just doesn't make sense to me that they'd throw these ugly gifts on here. I mean, it just doesn't fit with the flow of things.

(I'm feeling confused) | | So this site has finally been launched.
In all honesty I am pretty surprised it happened at all. I have heard about LV launching for well over a year now.
I don't know what I think about this new set up. My initial reaction was "wtf is all this shit?" This site is so overrun with features now that it's hard to navigate. One of the best things about the old LiveVideo was how intuitive it was to navigate. I remember coming to that site for the first time and knowing my way around instantly (as opposed to YT, who's site took slightly more thought). This new site however has every option you can think of; blogging, vlogging, gifting, Live TV, Chat, photos, music, widgets, groups, slideshows...
I guess LiveUniverse has decided to change their tactics: If we can't excel in one area, we'll just overwhelm everyone with features.
It seems to me that very sucessful sites are simple, focused and easy to use. I mean...look at Google. It's just a blank page with a box that you can type search words into. It has ONE main purpose, and that's it. YouTube...ONE purpose.
I suppose you can also point at myspace and say that it's riddled with shit too and is still successful. But I hate myspace, so if you said that, I'd slap you. MySpace (and I fear this will be the case with LiveVideo as well) has been taken over by teenagers who are easily amused by widgets and glitter graphics and have no sense of aesthetics what so ever. I absolutely HATE opening someone's myspace page only to find that they have fucked around with the sizing, added a media player that blasts music the moment I open it, have those fucking annoying gif images as a background...
ugh!
Facebook had it right. Keep things clean, keep things simple and don't give people too many choices. Why? because most people are idiots, and have bad taste.
