Zombie Movie Review 17-- Zombie Strippers revisited
Saturday, July 4, 2009 (4:06 PM)
Watched this flick again.  This is one of those movies you have to watch more than once to pick up on all the sight gags and one liners.  Mary Clark was still awesome (my favorite giant redhead).  This is one of my favorites.  If you haven't watched it yet, go ahead, watch it!!!  Later.

Zombie Movie Review 16-- Zombiez a.k.a. The Second Crappiest Zombie Movie of All Time
Saturday, July 4, 2009 (4:05 PM)
This movie was bad.  The writing was bad. The acting was bad. The whole direction was bad.  It starts off at a construction site and centers around this chick that works there.  The zombies come out of nowhere for no reason and start hacking people up with cleavers and sickles (no shit, sickles).  She is held by police at the construction site after she reports that peolpe are being attacked.  The scene then goes to her loft (?).  Zomkbies start banging on the door and eat her husband when he opens it after she locks it and runs away screaming.  She ends up getting knocked out and ends up at the construction site, the prisoner of a guy who's cutting people up (seems like more of a cannibal flick than a zombie flick).  She escapes and while running down a street in an industrial area, magically transports to a gravel road in the middle of the woods.  There she is approached and chased by friendly talking zombies.  It just gets worse from there.  The only redeeming feature of the whole movie are the 5 minutes she spends walking around in her underwear--she looks really good in her underwear.  I would only recommend this if you're  interested in how not to make a movie of this type.  While not as excruciatingly bad as Zombie 4--After Death, it's pretty damn bad.  If you want to torture yourself, watch this flick.  Later.

Zombie Movie Review 15-- Zombies, Zombies, Zombies
Sunday, July 5, 2009 (11:02 PM)
Haven't posted for a while, so here goes...   This flick starts out in a strip club.  The zombies come from a drug created by "a secret government lab, experimenting with drugs to make super soldiers".Then it shifts to an all night diner, where the strippers and a band of hoes are bitching back and forth at weach other. The first zombie is a big, stacked girl playing a hoe.  She goes on to chew off another hoes arm and bites another one on the neck.  Most of the movie takes place in the strip club (reminds me of Zombie Strippers).  There's the typical bite victim who turns into a zombie, bites someone else, the gets shotgunned.  The acting is a little better than bad.  There's a few boobs at the begionning, but there are hot girls of all shapes and sizes which kind of redeems the movie.  It wasn't all bad-- there was a good zombie eating guts scene, yanking out an eyeball and eating it scene and zombie getting hit and hiding under the truck scene. This is also the first movie I've seen where they use a chainsaw and a weedeater as anti-zombie weapons.   It also had some really good oneliners, seriously!  And the way they destroyed the zombies was unique--if I told you, it would wreck the end of the movie.  It's worth at least one watch.  Give it a watch.   ( Sorry if this isn't too good, wrote it after three beers!!)  Later.

Low Budget Flicks 6-- The Toxic Avenger 3
Tuesday, June 23, 2009 (8:44 PM)
This is also billed as "The Last Temptation of Toxie".  Good old TA, after wiping out all the crime in Tromaville, takes employment with the local hazardous waste company.   Little does he know, that the head of the company is actually Satan in disguise.  The script is totally of the wall.  The best part is the gut yanking, armtwisting off, head squishing that goes on when TA starts cleaning up town again. Believe it or not, this was a pretty attention holding flick, besides the fact that it's a typical Troma production.  It's very watchable despite a budget that seems to be spent mostly on "special" effects-- you've got to watch it to see what I mean.  The only problem is that you've also got to watch the first two movies-- so you can see the characters that were killed off and brought back as themselves or entirely new characters, aso that the people of Troma are the same.  They filmed the flicks in the same town and used the whole population as extras.  Definitely worth watching.  Later.

Low Budget Flicks 5-- The Toxic Avenger 2
Sunday, February 15, 2009 (5:13 PM)
This is the second in the series staring Ol' Goo Eyes.  The Toxiv Avenger is back.  It's nice to see a production company that doesn't let a bad script and poor acting get in the way of making a movie.  Most of the budget seemed to be dumped into the part of the movie filmed in Japan.  There was ninjas, Kabuki actor warriors, a-guy-in-drag fighter (that part was wrong on so many levels), and of course, Sumo wrestlers.  The movie starts with the TA going to Japan to look for his long lost father--he's directed there by the evil corporation head who wants to take over the town.  The whole Japanese filming seems to be one long street fight.  There's lots of Japanese boobage and naked Japanese chicks.  There's also blind girl boobage in the beginning in Troma--along with scantily dressed evil chicks.  The movie is bad, but that's what made it so much fun to watch.  What else would you expect from Troma productions and the Toxic Avenger.  Definjitely worth watching at least once.  Looking forward to see what they did with Toxic Avenger 3!!  Later.

Low Budget Flicks4-- The Toxic Avenger
Tuesday, February 10, 2009 (8:37 PM)
This is one of my favorite low budget flicks.  The movie takes place in the town of Troma, which is THE toxic waste dumping capital.  The local health club mop boy falls into a barrel of radioactive waste and the Toxic Avenger is born.  He goes on crime wiping out rampage, most or which is run by the mayor Peter Bell Goody (some of the names in this movie are great).  There's a great scene where he rips off a bad guys arm and beats him with it--pretty entertaining.  There's a lot of innovative ways he takes care of the bad guys--finishing up with his signature mop shoved in the mouth. He also ends up with a blind girlfriend.  This movie is full of comic book blood and guts. This is one of those movies where it would be too easy to give away all the good stuff.  It's good for a lot of laughs and has a lot of '80's chicks in bikinis, along with some boobage.  It's worth a watch.  Later.

Zombie Movie Review 14-- Dead and Deader
Sunday, July 5, 2009 (11:03 PM)
This movie, made in 2006, was actually pretty good.  It starts off with a special forces group going into Cambodia to see why a humanitarian mission bunch hasn't been heard from in awhile.  Turns out they've all been zombified by radioactive scorpions.  The building ends up getting blown up and everybody is killed.  Later, we find out that all the special forces guys were infected by the scorpions.  They are all returned to a military base in the U.S.  One of the guys wakes up just as he's going to be autopsied--basically fine- because the he cuts the scorpion out before it can reach his heart.  All the other guys turn into typical flesh eating zombies. The games then begin.  Teh best scene is one of the first which takes place in the bases kitchen.  There's zombie martial arts, electric knife and ceiling fan fu (to borrow one from Joe Bob Briggs).  Enter the mad scientist who wants to market the scorpions as a live forever product.  The fun then begins.  There's zombie-eating-people scenes, arm-ripping off scenes, plenty of head shots and a giant explosion at the end.  What more could you ask for?!?!    Most of the interaction between the not-quite-zombie guy and the cook are played for laughs-some of the one-liners will make you groan, but all in all it's a decent flick for the money that was spent on it.  Definitely worth watching -matter of fact, I'll probably watch it again.  Later.

Low Budget Flicks 3--The Man with the Screaming Brain
Tuesday, December 30, 2008 (4:28 PM)
This flick stars Bruce Campbell (he's not called "King of the B movies" for nothing) who plays a wealthy businessman (William Cole) looking for business oppertunities in a generic Eastern Block country.  He becomes entangled with a crazy maid who offs him and his driver (Yegor)  This is where Stacey Keach comes in. He plays a mad scientist type who has developed a procedure to repair damaged brains by transplanting parts of other brains into them.  Cole gets part of Yegor's and the fun begins.  One of the best scenes is the arguement between the two brains-lots of self-punching--very entertaining.  Forgot to mention that Cole is traveling with his wife--she happens to get killed at the same time as the maid and her brain is transplanted into the maids body.  Got ot give credit to Stacey Keach-- he plays an excellent mad scientist--his character almost upstages Bruce Campbell's.  Also, Ted Raimi plays Pavel, the scientist's assistant.  He's got the laugh getting part in the movie. Can't give this too much of a review, or it would really wreck the movie.  Definitely worth watching.  Later.

Low Budget Flicks 2--The Thing With Two Heads
Sunday, December 21, 2008 (11:17 PM)
This movie came out in 1971 .  It's kind of a tongue-in-cheek version  of  The Incredible Two-Headed Transplant.  It stars Ray Milland (big name in late 50's-early '60's flicks) and ex-pro football player Rosie Greer.  The story goes look this: a racist doctor (Milland) is afflicted with a crippling type of arthritis and is looking for a new body.  Rosie Greer is a convicted murderer (who is innocent of course) who agrees to will himself to science rather than being executed.  The doctor's head is transplanted on the convict's body and hilarity ensues.  There are a lot of corny laughs in this thing.  The best part comes when the two headed guy and a doctor who's going to help him grab a dirt bike in the middle of a race, finish the race and win.  There's some pretty good cop car motorcross involved.  The worst part is next--the 15 minute cross country cop car chase where they use the same clips of cars crashing into gulleys and rolling down hills over and over again.  The ending is pretty good.  I'm glad I didn't pay to see it.  Worth watching at least once.  Later.

Low Budget Flicks 1--The Incredible Two-Headed Transplant
Thursday, December 18, 2008 (4:21 PM)
This is kind of an old one--came out in 1971.  It stars Bruce Dern as a doctor obsessed with transplanting heads.  He's doing this to help another doctor who lost the use of his hands--needs a new body.  A psycho killer's head gets grafted to a low i.q. guys body and the movie takes off.  Don't want ot give away the plot, but the "..two-headed transplant" escapes and wreaks havoc (it's hard to write these things without giving away the plot--not that it would matter!!).  The movie also includes Kasey Kasem as another doctor who is a friend of Dern's character.  This movie has cheesy '70's music, '70's sideburns, shirts with really big collars, and cool '70's cars.  It never won an academy award, but it's definitely worth a watch.  Later.
