 TAKE THAT! Mr. Robber Man!

(I'm feeling surprised)
Here's an incident that just happened the other day here where I live in Albany, GA, this article being from our local Fox station WFXL:

Boy Interrupts Burglary in Progress

ALBANY,GA. -- An Albany boy came home from school Tuesday afternoon and interrupted a burglary in progress. When the intruder reached for his pistol ten year old Demarcus Mathis grabbed a baseball bat and struck the man in the back and head.

Demarcus’ older sister Lawanda said that Demarcus told the family that he has seen the man in the past loitering in the family’s back yard.

Neighbor Johnny Reed remarked that he had “been here eleven years and never had this problem but lately in this part of the neighborhood people have been walking in the alleys and streets.”

And just how old was this boy? 10, yes, 10 years old!

This made me think about another story, that of the 7 year-old girl who chased after a man who robbed the store her mother worked at. See video of that story here

Does this mean that the kids are getting braver now-a-days? Or more stupid? I mean, it's obvious that in most cases an adult would be able to overtake a child. And though it's kind of funny and the robber got what he deserved, isn't it kind of scary that a 10 year old would think to pick up a baseball bat and whack someone with it? I don't know about you, but when I was 10, if I had walked in on someone burglarizing my house, I would have took off running as fast as I could, lol.
